The early historical roots of Lee-Yang theorem
2014
A deep and detailed historiographical analysis of a particular case study concerning the so-called Lee-Yang theorem of theoretical statistical mechanics of phase transitions, has emphasized what real historical roots underlie such a case study. To be precise, it turned out that some well-determined aspects of entire function theory have been at the primeval origins of this important formal result of statistical physics.
Normal forms and embeddings for power-log transseries
2016
First return maps in the neighborhood of hyperbolic polycycles have their asymptotic expansion as Dulac series, which are series with power-logarithm monomials. We extend the class of Dulac series to an algebra of power-logarithm transseries. Inside this new algebra, we provide formal normal forms of power-log transseries and a formal embedding theorem. The questions of classifications and of embeddings of germs into flows of vector fields are common problems in dynamical systems. Aside from that, our motivation for this work comes from fractal analysis of orbits of first return maps around hyperbolic polycycles. This is a joint work with Pavao Mardešić, Jean-Philippe Rolin and Vesna Župano…
Équidistribution non archimédienne et actions de groupes sur les arbres = Non-Archimedean equidistribution and group actions on trees
2016
We give equidistribution results of elements of function fields over finite fields, and of quadratic irrationals over these fields, in their completed local fields. We deduce these results from equidistribution theorems of common perpendiculars in quotients of trees by lattices in their automorphism groups, proved by using ergodic properties of the discrete geodesic flow.

Interaction Diagram of a Circular Bar in Torsion and Extension
1995
For a circular bar of perfectly plastic material and subjected to a cyclically variable torque and a constant axial force, the interaction (or generalized Bree) diagram is derived by a direct method in which Melan’s theorem is used to locate the nonratchetting load boundary.
Sur le fonctionnement du Journal de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées entre 1917 et 1937 d'après des lettres inédites de Henri Villat à Robert de Mon…
2011
We are interested in the Journal of Mathématiques Pures and Appliquées (JMPA) over the period 1917-1937. From the end of 1921 , two mathematicians worked to its publication, Henri Villat as editor in chief and Robert Montessus Ballore as associate editor. Through unpublished letters , we descrive the operation of the JMPA after WWI.
Measurements of the Lineshape of the $Z^{0}$ and Determination of Electroweak Parameters from its Hadronic and Leptonic Decays
1994
Abstract: During the LEP running periods in 1990 and 1991 DELPHI has accumulated approximately 450000 Z0 decays into hadrons and charged leptons. The increased event statistics coupled with improved analysis techniques and improved knowledge of the LEP beam energies permit significantly better measurements of the mass and width of the Z0 resonance. Model independent fits to the cross sections and leptonic forward-backward asymmetries yield the following Z0 parameters: the mass and total width M(Z) = 91.187 +/- 0.009 GeV, GAMMA(Z) = 2.486 +/- 0.012 GeV, the hadronic and leptonic partial widths GAMMA(had) = 1.725 +/- 0.012GeV, GAMMA(l) = 83.01 +/- 0.52 MeV, the invisible width GAMMA(inv) = 51…
Two-step nilpotent Leibniz algebras
2022
In this paper we give a complete classification of two-step nilpotent Leibniz algebras in terms of Kronecker modules associated with pairs of bilinear forms. In particular, we describe the complex and the real case of the indecomposable Heisenberg Leibniz algebras as a generalization of the classical $(2n+1)-$dimensional Heisenberg Lie algebra $\mathfrak{h}_{2n+1}$. Then we use the Leibniz algebras - Lie local racks correspondence proposed by S. Covez to show that nilpotent real Leibniz algebras have always a global integration. As an application, we integrate the indecomposable nilpotent real Leibniz algebras with one-dimensional commutator ideal. We also show that every Lie quandle integr…
Design of EMI Filters Using Multi-Objective Optimization
2018
A multi-objective design procedure for EMI filters in power converters is proposed. In a first step, the results obtained by an automatic design of EMI filters for power electronic converters oriented to satisfy the electromagnetic compatibility standards and the power density constraint which impose the minimization of the filter volume and/or weight, are evaluated. In a second step, the power losses and the cost related to the EMI filter configurations are estimated. By using the dominance concept, the EMI filter designs which are part of the Pareto front are selected among a discrete set of feasible configurations. Therefore, the configurations of the Pareto front take into consideration…
"Table 4" of "Measurements of the tau polarization in Z0 decays"
1995
TAU and Z polarization values was obtained as a result of fit of the POL(cos(theta)) distribution to the formula Ptau(COS(THETA)) = (Ptau*(1+cos**2(theta))+Pz*2*cos(theta))/ ((1+cos**2(theta))+Ptau*Pz*2*cos(theta)). Results are corrected for QED effects and for the center-of-mass energies different to M(Z) with the program ZFITTER.. The first error is statistical, the second is due to the simulated data statistics and the third due to all other systematic uncertainties.
