Although there is extensive research on how institutional trust and distrust play out in the forms political participation takes, the existing research lacks thorough analysis on what trust and distrust actually consist of, that is, how individuals evaluate institutions as trustworthy or not and what consequences this evaluation has for individuals and their relation to the state more broadly. Abstract Purpose: This study estimated the long-term individual-level productivity costs of physical inactivity. Methods: The data were drawn from the Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966, to which the productivity cost variables (sick leaves and disability pensions) from Finnish registries were linked. Atmospheric transformation of wood combustion emissions is a complex process involving multiple compounds interacting simultaneously. Thus, an advanced methodology is needed to study the process in order to gain a deeper understanding of the emissions. Aktiivisen ikääntymisen politiikkaa on pidetty ratkaisuna ikääntymisen haasteisiin. Tarkastelen artikkelissani, miten aktiivisen ikääntymisen diskurssi näkyy Helsingin Sanomien pääkirjoitusaukeaman teksteissä vuosina 2000–2015.Foucault´laisella diskurssianalyysilla tutkin, millaisten aladiskurssien kautta diskurssi rakentuu ja mil­laisia subjektipositioita on varattu ikääntyneille. Tulosten mukaan työuran pidentäminen näkyy aineistossa vahvasti ja ikääntyneet nähdään resurssina. Yhteiskunnalta odotetaan kuitenkin varautumista väestön ikääntymiseen, esimerkiksi hoivakustan­nuksiin ja ikäystävällisen ympäristön tarpeeseen.
