Activated Carbon Production from Peat Using ZnCl2 : Characterization and Applications

The process for producing activated carbon from peat was optimized. The peat was impregnated with different ratios of ZnCl2, and the impregnated biomass was activated at different temperatures. The specific surface area, pore size distribution, total carbon content, and yield of the activated carbon were investigated. The best results for the specific surface area and mesoporosity of the activated peat were obtained by using a high impregnation ratio (2) and high activation temperature (1073 K). Two-particle transverse momentum correlations in pp and p-Pb collisions at energies available at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

Two-particle transverse momentum differential correlators, recently measured in Pb--Pb collisions at energies available at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), provide an additional tool to gain insights into particle production mechanisms and infer transport properties, such as the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density, of the medium created in Pb-Pb collisions. The longitudinal long-range correlations and the large azimuthal anisotropy measured at low transverse momenta in small collision systems, namely pp and p-Pb, at LHC energies resemble manifestations of collective behaviour. Musculoskeletal disorders and disability among forest industry workers in lower and higher sickness absence groups: a case-control study

Background: Musculoskeletal wellbeing and disorders and explanatory factors were investigated among forest industry employees. Methods: A new positive approach to maintenance of working ability focuses on being present at work. 140 individuals with low sickness absence (≤1.5% in hours during the past 6.5 years) and 140 controls with higher sickness absence (>1.5%), randomly selected from the source population (n = 636) in workplace clusters (n = 5), were studied. Tässä pro gradu –tutkielmassa selvitettiin alakoulun opettajien näkemyksiä oppilaiden ei-toivotusta käyttäytymisestä ja siihen vastaamisesta. Lähtökohtana oli saada tietoon toimivia työtapoja ja ennaltaehkäisykeinoja oppilaiden käyttäytymisen pulmiin. Lisäksi olin kiinnostunut selvittämään, kuinka opettajat kokevat kolmiportaisen tuen mallin toimivan oppilaiden oppimisen ja koulunkäynnin tukena, myös opettajan työn näkökulmasta. Tutkielman aineisto on kerätty sähköisellä puolistrukturoidulla lomakekyselyllä ja se koostuu 14 alakoulun opettajan vastauksesta. Tutkielman perusteella voidaan todeta, että opettajat kokevat oppilaiden ei-toivotun käyttäytymisen olevan sääntöjä rikkovaa toimintaa,…
