The effect of defect location on coating fragmentation patterns under biaxial tension

Fragmentation of a coating possessing orthogonal preferential crack propagation directions is modeled for equibiaxial tensile loading. Two plausible cracking scenarios are compared, caused by flaws randomly distributed over the area of the coating or along the coating fragment edges. The two fragmentation scenarios considered are shown to yield qualitatively different fragment patterns.

Maģistra darbā ir pētīti darba vides riska faktori un stresa ietekme uz farmaceitiem, un to saistība ar nodarbināto darbspējām. Darbs sastāv no trīs daļām. Pirmajā daļā ir apkopota un analizēta literatūra par farmaceitu profesiju, kā arī ergonomiskiem un psihosociāliem riskiem. Otrajā daļā aprakstītas pētījumā lietotās metodes, bet trešajā daļā veikta iegūto rezultātu apkopošana un analīze. Literatūras analīze liecina, ka farmaceiti, kuri strādā aptiekā, pakļauti daudzveidīgiem darba vides risku faktoriem (fiziskiem, ergonomiskiem, psihosociāliem). Le fonctionnement des rivières du bassin de l’Èbre a subi d’importants changements depuis 1950. Il s’agit d’un processus rapide et très marqué, de simplification et de stabilisation sur le fleuve principal et sur ses principaux affluents pyrénéens. Ce processus s’est manifesté par des changements dans la morphologie fluviale, le développement de la végétation sur les lits, un rétrécissement de l’espace naturel fluvial et une incision des lits fluviaux. Les facteurs de ce processus sont le changement global dans le bassin, la construction de réservoirs d’eau et d’autres nombreuses pressions humaines directes, notamment d’extractions de graviers et de canalisations. Regular solutions for nonlinear elliptic equations, with convective terms, in Orlicz spaces

We establish some existence and regularity results to the Dirichlet problem, for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations involving a partial differential operator, depending on the gradient of the solution. Our results are formulated in the Orlicz-Sobolev spaces and under general growth conditions on the convection term. The sub- and supersolutions method is a key tool in the proof of the existence results.
