CONFLICTING CITIZENSHIP AND (RE)ACTIVE ZONES IN THE URBAN AREAS: CONFRONTING THE CASE OF BERLIN AND ROME

Some Remarks about Product Spaces

2018

Summary This article covers some technical aspects about the product topology which are usually not given much of a thought in mathematics and standard literature like [7] and [6], not even by Bourbaki in [4]. Let {Ti}i∈I be a family of topological spaces. The prebasis of the product space T = ∏ i∈I Ti is defined in [5] as the set of all π −1 i (V) with i ∈ I and V open in Ti . Here it is shown that the basis generated by this prebasis consists exactly of the sets ∏ i∈I Vi with Vi open in Ti and for all but finitely many i ∈ I holds Vi = Ti . Given I = {a} we have T ≅ Ta , given I = {a, b} with a≠ b we have T ≅ Ta ×Tb . Given another family of topological spaces {Si}i∈I such that Si ≅ Ti fo…

“Ephemeral” regeneration for the marginal urban spaces/places in Enna

2020

The aim of this paper it to demonstrate that the interventions of “ephemeral designing” - seen in the key of potential activators of shared forms of bottom-up urban regeneration - may be also read as sequence of pop-up actions (flames); but capable in conferring to the marginal urban spaces - even if temporarily - a “meta-real” shape of the desirable effects of that urban transformation they would to reach in a real implementation. By establishing, thereby, with both the city's communities and places, a true moment of local awareness and animation, fleeting but realistic, that can trigger interest and re-generate the sleeping collective activism, even before to regenerate the physical compo…

La dollarisation des économies émergentes

2002

Current discussions about dollarization/euroization are built on substitution models and cost/benefits analysis. This working paper aims to go beyond these explanations based on a functionalist definition of money. An institutionalist definition of money advocates analyzing de facto dollarization more broadly as a legitimacy crisis of the unit of account that damages monetary sovereignty and of whom authorities try to check in a kind o f institutional resistance. A macroeconomic definition of money involves questionning full and de jure dollarization consistency with both of principles guiding the monetary economy of production: (1) endogeneity of money; (2) merger between monetary space an…
