Si cerca di dimostrare che l´Elogium geographiae contenuto nel Papiro di Artemidoro e´ influenzato dal Peri Kosmou dello ps.-Aristotele, il quale e´ a sua volta influenzato da Posidonio. La datazione piu´ probabile dell´ Elogium geographiae e´ attorno all´ anno 0.

Abstract In 2002 new “Dead Sea Scrolls” fragments began to appear on the antiquities market, most of them through the Kando family. In this article we will present evidence that nine of these Dead Sea Scrolls-like fragments are modern forgeries.

Scopo del lavoro e´ dare per la prima volta una interpretazione corretta della definizione dei due stili asiani che si legge in Cicerone (Brut. 325), nonche´ mostrare che il movimento atticista e´ nato in Grecia verso la fine del II sec. a. C. Si cerca anche di mostrare che il greco del Papiro di Artemidoro non e´ asiano.

The paper traces a brief overview of the fundamental contribution given to the study of Roman law by the discovery of papyri and reconstructs a fruitful season of research during the so-called Century of Papyrology. In particular, against the broader background of the Wissenschaftsgeschichte of Roman law in the first half of the 20th century, the results proposed in a recently published monograph are analysed and some reflections on the role of modern Juristic Papyrology are proposed in the light of a renewed study of the sources of Roman law.

Si cerca di dimostrare che il "Carmen de bello Actiaco" (PHerc 817) e´ stato composto in eta´ neroniana (se non addirittura vespasianea) e non augustea, come generalmente si crede. Si cerca anche di mostrare che esso non e´ di tendenza antiaugustea. Vengono proposte alcune congetture al testo. We try to show that the "Carmen de bello Actiaco" (PHerc 817) was composed in the Neronian (if not the Vespasian) age and not in the Augustan age, as is generally believed. It also tries to show that it is not of an anti-Augustan trend. Some conjectures are proposed to the text.
Review of George W. Houston, Inside Roman Libraries: Book Collections and Their Management in Antiquity

By examining in detail the results of George W. Houston's recent research on Roman libraries, the present contribution discusses the structure, content, and socio-cultural function of book collections in the Roman world. Special attention is devoted to the (often overlooked) relationship between intellectual trends and material culture as well as to the highly representative sites of Herculaneum and Oxyrhynchus.
