Tutkielmassa tutkitaan liiketoimintaverkostoja ja siihen vaikuttavia tekijöitä, erityisesti teknologian näkökannalta. Liiketoimintaverkostolla tarkoitetaan verkostoa jossa toimii useampi yritys ja joita sitoo toisiinsa erilaiset suhteet. Teknologialla tarkoitetaan tutkielmassa kaikkea teknologiaa jota käytetään muun muassa informaation eri muotojen luomiseen, tallennukseen, kommunikointiin ja käyttöön. Tarkemmin on tarkasteltu internettiä ja sitä hyödyntäviä teknologioita kuten sähköpostia, videoneuvottelua ja erilaisia IOS-järjestelmiä sekä digitalisaatiota. Paradoxes of Mentoring: An Ethnographic Study of a Mentoring Programme for Highly-educated Women with Migrant Backgrounds

This article explores paradoxes that emerge in the mentoring of highly-educated, female, foreign-born job-seekers in Finland. Theoretically, the study is linked to the growing body of research scrutinising the integration or discrimination of migrants in working life. It analyses cultural practices and ideas that are visible and affect the mentoring interaction. On a more practical level, the paper determines how the mentors and mentees experience the mentoring, and how intercultural mentoring could be improved in order to promote mentees’ employment. This dissertation focuses on the social philosophy of humor from the viewpoint of Erich Fromm’s critical humanistic thinking. The work consists of an introduction and four individual articles. The introduction discusses Fromm’s theories in relation to the phenomenon of humor to provide a basis for the articles. The central aim is to understand the dynamic nature of humor and how it is related to the problem of being a paradoxical creature, that is, a human being.
