Changes in food habits amongst Norwegian adolescents in 2016 and 2019 according to gender and socioeconomic status

Background: Monitoring dietary habits is important in order to identify risk groups and as a basis for targeted public health initiatives. Objective: To study trends in consumption of selected foods and beverages from 2016 to 2019 amongst Norwegian adolescents according to gender and parental education. Design: Repeated cross-sectional study amongst 25,996 adolescents, aged 14–17 years old. Consumption of selected food and beverages was measured by an online food frequency questionnaire and general linear models were applied to estimate changes in dietary habits. Second language comprehensibility and accentedness are highly complex phenomena, and numerous studies have been conducted to better understand these constructs. However, research has seldom addressed L2 comprehensibility and accentedness in relation to speakers' proficiency in the target language. This study explores L2 English comprehensibility and accentedness across three proficiency levels. The speakers were 60 teenaged Finns, half of them speaking Finnish as their L1 and half speaking Finland-Swedish as their L1. Abstract The study investigates the linguistic basis of Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) levels in English as a foreign language (EFL) learners’ writing. Specifically, it examines whether CEFR levels can be distinguished with reference to syntactic complexity (SC) and whether the results differ between two groups of EFL learners with different first languages (Sindhi and Finnish). This sheds light on the linguistic comparability of the CEFR levels across L1 groups. Sorption of Acid Green 16 from Aqueous Solution onto Low-moor Peat and Smectite Clay Co-occurring in Lignite of Belchatow Mine Field

Celem badań było wyznaczenie pojemności sorpcyjnej iłu smektytowego i torfu niskiego towarzyszących pokładom złóż węgli brunatnych w stosunku do barwnika Acid Green 16 (AG–16) oraz określenie mechanizmu jego wiązania. Wyniki wskazały, że badany torf niski był skutecznym sorbentem barwnika AG-16 w całym zakresie stężeń początkowych (1–1000 mg/dm3), natomiast ił smektytowy – jedynie z zakresie stężeń wysokich (> 250 mg/dm3). W wyniku aktywacji termicznej iłu nastąpił wzrost jego pojemności sorpcyjnej w stosunku do badanego barwnika. Proces sorpcji barwnika przebiegał przy ujemnie naładowanej powierzchni sorbentów i wskazywał, że jednym z mechanizmów wiązania barwnika AG–16 były oddziaływania …

SAGe kolokiteen kalibroinnit suoritettiin kolmelle näytegeometrialle. Kaksi geometrioista oli sylinterin muotoisia purkkeja, jotka mitattiin ilmaisimen päällä ja yksi koeputki, joka mitattiin kolon sisällä. Piikkitehokkuuskalibrointi tehtiin NPL:sta tilattujen sertifioitujen näytteiden avulla. Yksinuklidinäytteitä valmistettiin radioaktiivisista liuoksista totaalitehokkuuskalibrointia varten. Totaalitehokkuuskäyrä saatiin simuloimalla totaalitehokkuudet MCNP:llä ja sovittamalla malli vastaamaan kokeellisia tuloksia. Kalibraatiot tehtiin energiavälille 30 keV–1.9 MeV. Firms’ distance to the European productivity frontier

AbstractIn this article we explore the factors contributing to reduce the distance of laggard firms to the European frontier, focusing on institutional factors. To characterize Total Factor Productivity frontier firms within industries for the European Union we use firm level data from AMADEUS for the period 2003–2014. Our findings provide evidence on the importance of governance quality and easiness in getting credit in explaining the distance of laggard firms to the European productivity frontier. Dealing with viewers’ complaints: Role, visibility and transparency of PSB Ombudsmen in ten European countries

The article shows the results of a comparative analysis of the complaints management mechanisms offered by ten European Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) systems on their corporate websites. Using a qualitative methodology, it maps the procedures and evaluates the visibility, transparency and dissemination of results. The findings show, firstly, great diversity in terms of responsible election and management, despite the converging media governance. Also noteworthy is the margin of substantial improvement in the transparency and dissemination possibilities, specially relating to the interaction offered by the digital environment.
