It is well documented that the familial context plays a role in sporting activity and development, but there is little research on how siblings and twins interact with achievement progress in sports. Masteroppgave idrettsvitenskap ME517 - Universitetet i Agder 2017 The purpose of this study was to establish pre-competition anxiety, self-confidence and mental toughness among high level handball players before matches during the handball season. The development of pre-competition anxiety and self-confidence before the matches was compared between two different teams and compared between players scoring high and low on mental toughness. I teoridelen gjennomgås både kognitiv og sosialkognitiv syn på læring for å ha en kunnskapsbase å tolke eksisterende funn i forhold til. Som metode er det gjennomført et eksperiment i 5., 6. og 7. klasse ved tre private skoler i Kristiansand, Søgne og Egersund.
