2013
TIIVISTELMÄ Haverinen, Henna. 2013. Miesten ja naisten urheiluvammat salibandyssä. Liikuntakas-vatuksen laitos, Liikuntapedagogiikan pro gradu tutkielma, Jyväskylän yliopisto, 67 s. Viime vuosien aikana salibandy on kasvattanut suosiotaan huimasti.

Physical qualities and body composition predictors of running performance in national level women’s official soccer matches
2023
The purpose of the study was to (1) determine match running performance, anthropometry and various physical qualities of national level women soccer players and (2) identify key physical qualities and anthropometric predictors of match running profile during a competitive season. Twenty-five national level Finnish soccer players participated in the study. Players performed countermovement jump, loaded squat jumps, 30-meter sprint, maximum isokinetic knee flexor and extensor contractions, an incremental treadmill test and underwent body composition assessment in the lab. Jalkapallon pienpelien fysiologinen kuormittavuus
2001
Mäkelä, Ilkka. Jalkapallon pienpelien fysiologinen kuormittavuus. Liikuntafysiologian pro gradu -tutkielma. Liikuntabiologian laitos. Jyväskylän yliopisto. Jalkapallo on fyysinen taitolaji. Koeasetelma muotoiltiin Suomen liigajokkueiden valmentajille suunnatun kyselyn pohjalta. Lisäksi pyritti…

2021
The aim of the present study was to examine how team composition of players with different roles constrains individual and collective tactical behaviours, and ball possession effectiveness, during competitive 3 vs 3 small-sided and conditioned games (SSCGs) in youth soccer players. Fifteen male players (under 15 yrs, mean age 13.2 ± 1.03 years, mean years of practice: 4.2 ± 1.10 years) from the same club participated in this study. For analysis purposes, on advice from the coaching staff, participants were categorised according to their main team performance role, resulting in sub-samples of 5 defenders (centre-backs = 2 and full- backs = 3), 7 midfielders (central midfielders = 3 and wide…
Moral Attitudes Predict Cheating and Gamesmanship Behaviors Among Competitive Tennis Players
2017
Background: The present study tested Lee et al.’s (2008) model of moral attitudes and cheating behavior in sports in an Italian sample of young tennis players and extended it to predict behavior in actual match play. In the first phase of the study we proposed that moral, competence and status values would predict prosocial and antisocial moral attitudes directly, and indirectly through athletes’ goal orientations. In the second phase, we hypothesized that moral attitudes would directly predict actual cheating behavior observed during match play.\ud \ud Method: Adolescent competitive tennis players (N = 314, 76.75% males, M age = 14.36 years, SD = 1.50) completed measures of values, goal or…
The role of tennis coaches in regulating their players' emotional states : an exploratory study
2014
During the past few decades, the ability to perceive, understand, and regulate emotions efficiently has received widespread attention in sport settings (Hanin, 2000; 2004; Robazza, Pellizzari, & Hanin, 2004). Moreover, this line of research has mainly focused on the intrapersonal aspect of emotions. The aim of the present study was to examine the role of tennis coaches in regulating their players’ emotional states. The present study explored (a) tennis players’ emotional states related to their best and worst performances, (b) coaches’ accuracy in assessing players’ emotional experiences within these performances, and (c) self- and interpersonal emotional regulation strategies of tennis coa…
