Nordic welfare policies mitigate work–childcare reconciliation; however, they are not enough for mothers working in intensive work cultures. In addition, there are differences among the three Nordic states in both work–family policies and cultural norms as to how they should be used. In this article, we study the resources mothers who work in research, development and innovation (R&D&I) in Finland, Norway and Sweden rely on in their work–childcare reconciliation. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää lasten ja vanhempien kokemuksia vuorohoidosta sekä vanhempien ja lasten tulkintoja temperamenttipiirteistä vuorohoitoon sopeutumisessa. Tutkimus toteutettiin kahdessa vuorohoitoyksikkönä toimivassa ryhmäperhepäiväkodissa. Tutkimukseen osallistui viisi perhettä ja kuusi 3–6 -vuotiasta lasta. Aineisto kerättiin vanhemmilta kotona täytettävillä kyselylomakkeilla, joista toinen koski vuorohoitoa ja toinen lasten temperamenttipiirteitä. Fatherlessness, on the other hand, is something that more and more children are experiencing, growing up in a single-parent family.
