Kaksi tyypillistä lapsi- ja perhesosiaalityön tukimuotoa ovat tukihenkilö- ja tukiperhetoiminta. Tukitoimia on perinteisesti lähestytty rinnakkaisina palveluina, joille on yhteistä niiden perustuminen lapsen ja vapaaehtoisen maallikkotoimijan välille syntyvään vuorovaikutussuhteeseen. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan tuen tarvetta ilmentäviä kuormitustekijöitä, tukisuhdetoiminnalle asetettuja tavoitteita sekä toiminnan rinnalla tyypillisimmin käytettyjä palveluita. This chapter investigates the institutional and affective practices of domestic violence (DV) interventions in Finnish social work. It examines the expression of social workers’ emotions related to intervening in DV and how these expressions result in the positioning of clients. Mannerheimin Lastensuojeluliitto toi videoavusteisen perheohjausmenetelmän (VHT) Hollannista Suomeen 1990-luvun alkupuolella. Menetelmän perusajatuksena on sanattoman viestinnän tarkka havainnointi, vanhempien piilevien vanhemmuustaitojen esiin nostaminen ja hyvien vuorovaikutuskäytäntöjen maksimoiminen lyhyiden video-otosten ja myönteisen palautteen avulla. Lähtökohtina toiminnalle ovat vanhempien määrittelemä tavoite sekä perheiden kodeissa toimiminen.
