This paper aims at scrutinizing the evolution of the retail sector and, consequently, of retailscapes in a Southern Italy city, Catania. Starting from the outputs of an empirical place-based research project carried out by the authors in the mid ’2000s, the work deepens the recent transformations occurred both in the central areas and in the suburbs, in order to explore the processes and dynamics – produced by and within the retail field – which have been shaping urban morphology and socio-economic functions in the last decade.

Tēmas aktualitāti nosaka tas, ka traumas ir viens no visbiežāk sastopamākajām un aktuālākajām problēmām medicīnā un sabiedrībā. Ontogenetic δ15N Trends and Multidecadal Variability in Shells of the Bivalve Mollusk, Arctica islandica

Bulk stable nitrogen isotope values of the carbonate-bound organic matrix in bivalve shells (δ15NCBOM) are increasingly used to assess past food web dynamics, track anthropogenic nitrogen pollution and reconstruct hydrographic changes. However, it remains unresolved if the δ15NCBOM values are also affected by directed ontogenetic trends which can bias ecological and environmental interpretations. This very aspect is tested here with modern and fossil specimens of the long-lived ocean quahog, Arctica islandica, collected from different sites and water depths in the NE Atlantic Ocean. Tēmas aktualitāti nosaka tas, ka katru gadu 4 miljoni Eiropas un 1,9 miljoni Eiropas Savienības (ES) iedzīvotāju mirst no kardiovaskulārām slimībām, kas attiecīgi sastāda 47% no visiem nāves gadījumiem Eiropā un 40% no visiem nāves gadījumiem ES. (2) Kardioloģiskās saslimšanas ir viena no galvenajām sabiedrības problēmām Latvijā, kas saistīta ar biežu stacionēšanas nepieciešamību un mirstību. Este trabajo analiza si la perspectiva de la elección estratégica (strategic choice) contribuye, más allá de los planteamientos de la teoría contingente, a la generación y descripción de distintos tipos básicos de trabajo. Aetosaur pes from the Upper Triassic of Krasiejów (Poland), with remarks on taxonomy of isolated bones

The incomplete, articulated, right pes of an aetosaur, extracted from the lower bone-bearing horizon of the Krasiejów Late Triassic site, is larger than any other, known from among the Aetosauria. Its individual bones resemble those of at least three genera: Desmatosuchus (astragalus), Typothorax (ungual phalanges), and Stagonolepis (metatarsals). This underscores the highly speculative nature of the taxonomical classification of isolated postcranial bones and makes it impossible to assign the limb to any particular genus. The phalangeal formula is 2-3-4-5-?; for the fifth finger: 2/3/4 is possible. The anatomy of the pes indicates adaptation for digging.
