Summary Objective To determine the incidence, characteristics, and risk factors of pulmonary embolism (PE) among patients hospitalized for COVID-19. Patients and Methods We performed a prospective observational study of a randomly selected cohort of consecutive patients hospitalized for COVID-19 infection between March 8, 2020 through April 25, 2020. All eligible patients underwent a computed tomography pulmonary angiography independently of their PE clinical suspicion and were pre-screened for a baseline elevated D-dimer level. Il saggio è il primo capitolo di un lavoro più complessivo sull'evoluzione dei sistemi ponderale predecimali nel quale, avvalendosi di fonti documentarie diverse da quelle tradizionalmente usate per ricerche di tal genere, si affrontera' la tematica dell'evoluzione del sistema ponderale come strumento per la formazione dello stato moderno. In questo saggio si delinea il conflitto della Deputazione dei Pesi e Misure con la corporazione degli argentieri in occasione della riforma ponderale del 1809.

El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la crítica de John Gray al humanismo. Este teórico político ha planteado en algunas de sus obras una fuerte crítica no sólo del liberalismo, sino también de la idea de progreso, los proyectos políticos utópicos y el antropocentrismo. En primer lugar, quisiera esbozar una definición provisional de humanismo y analizar cómo reconstruye Gray este concepto. En segunda instancia, habría que desarrollar las principales críticas que Gray lanza a esta corriente de pensamiento.
