"Table 3" of "Measurement of photon-jet transverse momentum correlations in 5.02 TeV Pb+Pb and $pp$ collisions with ATLAS"

2019

Photon-jet pT balance distributions (1/Ng)(dN/dxJg) in pp events (blue, reproduced on all panels) and Pb+Pb events (red) with each panel denoting a different centrality selection. These panels show results with pTg = 100-158 GeV. Total systematic uncertainties are shown as boxes, while statistical uncertainties are shown with vertical bars.

"Table 5" of "Measurement of photon-jet transverse momentum correlations in 5.02 TeV Pb+Pb and $pp$ collisions with ATLAS"

2019

Selected comparisons of the nominal results in pp (blue) and 0-10% Pb+Pb (red) collisions with the central values obtained using a different photon-jet signal definition. Comparison of the nominal results (with DeltaPhi > 7pi/8) with those obtained using DeltaPhi > 3pi/4 for the pTg = 63.1-79.6 GeV range. Boxes indicate total systematic uncertainties, while vertical bars indicate statistical uncertainties.

Tunable Superstructures of Dendronized Graphene Nanoribbons in Liquid Phase

2019

In this Communication, we report the first synthesis of structurally well-defined graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) functionalized with dendritic polymers. The resultant GNRs possess grafting ratios of 0.59-0.68 for the dendrons of different generations. Remarkably, the precise 3D branched conformation of the grafted dendrons affords the GNRs unprecedented 1D supramolecular self-assembly behavior in tetrahydrofuran (THF), yielding nanowires, helices and nanofibers depending on the dimension of the dendrons. The GNR superstructures in THF exhibit near-infrared absorption with maxima between 650 and 700 nm, yielding an optical bandgap of 1.2-1.3 eV. Ultrafast photoconductivity analyses unveil that …

Photon emissivity of the quark-gluon plasma: A lattice QCD analysis of the transverse channel

2022

We present results for the thermal photon emissivity of the quark-gluon plasma derived from spatially transverse vector correlators computed in lattice QCD at a temperature of 250 MeV. The analysis of the spectral functions, performed at fixed spatial momentum, is based on continuum-extrapolated correlators obtained with two flavours of dynamical Wilson fermions. We compare the next-to-leading order perturbative QCD correlators, as well as the ${\cal N}=4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills correlators at infinite coupling, to the correlators from lattice QCD and find them to lie within $\sim10\%$ of each other. We then refine the comparison, performing it at the level of filtered spectral functions…

New tricyclic systems as photosensitizers towards triple negative breast cancer cells.

2022

AbstractNineteen pyrrolo[1,2-h][1,7]naphthyridinones and pyrido[2,3-c]pyrrolo[1,2-a]azepinones were synthesized as new tricyclic systems in which the pyridine ring is annelated to the 6,7-dihydroindolizin-8(5H)-one and 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-9H-pyrrole[1,2-a]azepine-9-one moieties to obtain potential photosensitizing agents. They were tested for their photoantiproliferative activity on a triple-negative breast cancer cell line, MDA-MB-231, in the dark and under UVA light (2.0 J/cm2). We demonstrated that their toxicity, only when exposed to light, was primarily due to the generation of reactive oxygen species while their photodegradation products were not responsible for their activity. The mos…
