Hlorēto parafīnu un bromēto antipirēnu noteikšana apkārtējās vides paraugos no Svalbāras, izmantojot augstas izšķirtspējas masspektrometriju

Maģistra darbā ir apkopota informācija bromēto antipirēnu un hlorēto parafīnu izmantošanas vēsturi, īpašībām un izplatības dinamiku līdz polāriem reģioniem, ar fokusu uz heksabromciklododkānu. Papildus, tika apkopota informācijā no literatūras par šo savienojumu sastopamību apkārtējās vides paraugos no Arktikas un Antarktīdas. Iepriekš izstrādāta paraugu sagatavošanas metode eksperimentālā daļā tika optimizēta, izvērtējot izvēlēto fāžu efektivitāti bromēto antipirēnu frakcionēšanai. Paraugu sagatavošanas procedūru pielietoja paraugos esošu piesārņotāju profilu raksturošanai un daudzumu noteikšanai Eiropas Arktikas izcelsmes augsnes paraugos.
Hot spots and gluon field fluctuations as causes of eccentricity in small systems

We calculate eccentricities in high energy proton-nucleus collisions, by calculating correlation functions of the energy density field of the Glasma immediately after the collision event at proper time tau = 0. We separately consider the effects of color charge and geometrical hot spot fluctuations, analytically performing the averages over both in a dilute-dense limit. We show that geometric fluctuations of hot spots inside the proton are the dominant source of eccentricity whereas color charge fluctuations only give a negligible correction. The size and number of hot spots are the most important parameters characterizing the eccentricities.
Initial state azimuthal anisotropies in small collision systems

Strong multiparticle azimuthal correlations have recently been observed in high energy proton-nucleus collisions. While final state collective effects can be responsible for many of the observations, the domain structure in the classical color field of a high energy nucleus also naturally leads to such correlations. We describe recent calculations of the momentum space 2-particle cumulant azimuthal anisotropy coefficients v_n{2}, n=2,3,4 from fundamental representation Wilson line distributions describing the high energy nucleus. Model independent constraints on mass-varying neutrino scenarios

Models of dark energy in which neutrinos interact with the scalar field supposed to be responsible for the acceleration of the Universe usually imply a variation of the neutrino masses on cosmological time scales. In this work we propose a parametrization for the neutrino mass variation that captures the essentials of those scenarios and allows one to constrain them in a model independent way, that is, without resorting to any particular scalar field model. Using WMAP 5 yr data combined with the matter power spectrum of SDSS and 2dFGRS, the limit on the present value of the neutrino mass is m(0) equivalent to m(nu)(z = 0) 0), totally consistent with no mass variation. Dark radiation and interacting scenarios

An extra dark radiation component can be present in the universe in the form of sterile neutrinos, axions or other very light degrees of freedom which may interact with the dark matter sector. We derive here the cosmological constraints on the dark radiation abundance, on its effective velocity and on its viscosity parameter from current data in dark radiation-dark matter coupled models. The cosmological bounds on the number of extra dark radiation species do not change significantly when considering interacting schemes.
