Kirjaa materiaalisena oliona ja funktionaalisena ilmaisuvälineenä tutkivien vertaisarvioitujen artikkelien lisäksi teoksessa on mukana runoja sekä vapaamuotoisia esseitä.

One of the main factors affecting historical art crafts material is the biodeterioration performed by bacteria and fungi, in archives, museums or private collections. Several microorganisms cause degradation to the natural organic material such as fibers, woods, and dyes as well as to stone objects. These alterations produce deterioration of physical, chemical, mechanical and esthetic properties. Statistical analyses on the essential oil of italian coriander (coriandrum sativum L.) fruits of different ages and origins

Thirty-one samples of Coriandrum sativum L. fruits, of different origin, year of cultivation (harvest) and crop management systems were subjected to volatile component analysis by combining Head Space Solid Phase Microextraction (HS-SPME) with GC/MS. In order to determine the importance of the major sources of volatile variability, some statistical analyses, including Cluster Analysis (CA) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA), were performed on the obtained data. The compounds, which gave the main contribution to the partition and classification of the original data, were α-pinene, p-cymene, γ-terpinene and linalool. On static instability and estimates for critical velocities of axially moving orthotropic plates under inhomogeneous tension

In this study, models for axially moving orthotropic plates are investigated analytically. Linearised Kirchhoff plate theory is used, and the energy forms of steady-state models are considered. With the help of the energy forms,ho- mogeneous and inhomogeneous tension profiles, some limits for the critical web velocity are found analytically. A numerical example is given about effects of the shear moduls in the case of an inhomogenous tenstion profile. nonPeerReviewed

L’objet de notre étude est de situer l’œuvre de Philippe Pinel (1745-1826) : Traité médico-philosophique sur l’aliénation mentale ou la manie, publié en 1801, dans l’histoire de la psychiatrie française et espagnole. Après un rapide rappel de ce qu’était le traitement de la folie depuis l’Antiquité jusqu’au XIXe siècle pour mieux juger de l’importance de Pinel, nous analysons les répercussions de ce traité, non seulement en France mais aussi en Espagne où il fut introduit grâce à la traduction de Luis Guarnerio y Allavena, Tratado médico-filosófico de la enagenación del alma o manía, publiée en 1804.
