Low level activity thresholds for changes in NMR biomarkers and genes in high risk subjects for type 2 diabetes

2017

AbstractOur objectives were to determine if there are quantitative associations between amounts and intensities of physical activities (PA) on NMR biomarkers and changes in skeletal muscle gene expressions in subjects with high risk for type 2 diabetes (T2D) performing a 3-month PA intervention. We found that PA was associated with beneficial biomarker changes in a factor containing several VLDL and HDL subclasses and lipids in principal component analysis (P = <0.01). Division of PA into quartiles demonstrated significant changes in NMR biomarkers in the 2nd - 4th quartiles compared to the 1st quartile representing PA of less than 2850 daily steps (P = 0.0036). Mediation analysis of PA-…

Etude des interactions dans la formation d'agrégats thermiques mixtes entre globulines de pois et béta-lactoglobuline : application à l'élaboration d…

2016

In the context of protein source diversification, pea protein is a promising ingredient and may be associated with milk proteins such as whey proteins in the production of new food products. In the present work, the thermal aggregation (85°C - 1 h) of pea globulins (Glob) alone and in admixture with β-lactoglobulin (βlg), prior to acid gelation, was studied as a function of total protein concentration, βlg/Glob weight ratio and ionic strength. The characterization of soluble aggregates was carried out by combining different analytical methods such as surface hydrophobicity determination, disulfide bridge quantification, dynamic light scattering (DLS), size exclusion chromatography (SEC-HPLC…

Comment réduire les émissions de CO2 du transport de fret en France ? Evaluation socio-économique de trois politiques publiques

2018

France must implement voluntarist policies in order to reduce CO2 emissions, which raises questions regarding the effectiveness of competing options and their costs, for both public finances and society. This paper estimates abatement costs of one ton of CO2 from three scenarios aimed at softening the environmental impacts of freight moved by trucks. Hybrid trucks may generate large CO2 savings (5.7 Mt/year in 2030), at a moderate discounted abatement cost (88 €/t). The option based on natural gas for vehicles leads to a similar abatement cost and to lower environmental gains (3.2 Mt/year in 2030). Whilst inducing small CO2 savings (0.2 Mt/year in 2030), megatrucks present a negative discou…

External derivations of internal groupoids

2008

If His a G-crossed module, the set of derivations of Gin H is a monoid under the Whitehead product of derivations. We interpret the Whitehead product using the correspondence between crossed modules and internal groupoids in the category of groups. Working in the general context of internal groupoids in a finitely complete category, we relate derivations to holomorphisms, translations, affine transformations, and to the embedding category of a groupoid. On some aspects of Borel-Moore homology in motivic homotopy : weight and Quillen’s G-theory

2016

The theme of this thesis is different aspects of Borel-Moore theory in the world of motives. Classically, over the field of complex numbers, Borel-Moore homology, also called “homology with compact support”, has some properties quite different from singular homology. In this thesis we study some generalizations and applications of this theory in triangulated categories of motives. The thesis is composed of two parts. In the first part we define Borel-Moore motivic homology in the triangulated categories of mixed motives defined by Cisinski and Déglise and study its various functorial properties, especially a functoriality similar to the refined Gysin morphism defined by Fulton. These results…

The ziqqurath of exact sequences of n-groupoids

2011

In this work we study exactness in the sesqui-category of n-groupoids. Using homotopy pullbacks, we construct a six term sequence of (n-1)-groupoids from an n-functor between pointed n-groupoids. We show that the sequence is exact in a suitable sense, which generalizes the usual notions of exactness for groups and categorical groups. Moreover, iterating the process, we get a ziqqurath of exact sequences of increasing length and decreasing dimension. For n = 1 we recover a classical result due to R. Brown and, for n = 2 its generalizations due to Hardie, Kamps and Kieboom and to Duskin, Kieboom and Vitale.

Implications du stress oxydant et du fer dans la cardiotoxicité des anthracyclines et du trastuzumab

2015

Cancer treatment has advanced considerably in recent years, allowing a reduction in mortality. Longer life expectancy of patients has helped to highlight the delayed onset of cardiovascular toxicity induced by these chemotherapies. The pathophysiological mechanisms responsible for these cardiac dysfunctions are complex, entangled and remain partially unknown. A better understanding of the phenomena involved in these cardiotoxicities is needed to prevent their occurrence. Therefore, we have developed two different experimental approaches to understand the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the cardiac toxicity of anthracyclines and trastuzumab.A first experimental study aimed to clari…

Compréhension des processus cognitifs de traitement de l’information alimentaire chez des individus normo-pondéraux, en surpoids et en obésité : infl…

2020

Obesity has a multifactorial origin that implies biological, social, psychological, and environmental factors. Previous studies have shown that particular cognitive processing of food stimuli could contribute to the maintenance and development of obesity. This vulnerability was characterized by attentional biases (i.e. the tendency to automatically orient one’s attention) and a decreased inhibitory control (i.e. difficulties to control one’s cognitive processes) toward foods. This phenomenon may be reinforced by the obesogenic environment: an environment abundant in food and with a lack of options for physical exercise. Among the five studies presented in this work, we characterized olfacto…
