Zur Untersuchung der Losungseigenschaften und des Ausmases der Verzweigung von radikalisch gewonnenem Polydodecylmethacrylat wurden Fraktionen von niedrig- und hochumgesetzten Praparaten im Molekulargewichtsbereich von 1,5·105 bis 8·106 auf ihr Molekulargewicht und ihre Knaueldimension hin vermessen. Toward a Rational Design of Polyamine-Based Zinc-Chelating Agents for Cancer Therapies.

In vitro viability assays against a representative panel of human cancer cell lines revealed that polyamines L1a and L5a displayed remarkable activity with IC50 values in the micromolar range. Preliminary research indicated that both compounds promoted G1 cell cycle arrest followed by cellular senescence and apoptosis. The induction of apoptotic cell death involved loss of mitochondrial outer membrane permeability and activation of caspases 3/7. Interestingly, L1a and L5a failed to activate cellular DNA damage response. On the existence and multiplicity of solutions for Dirichlet's problem for fractional differential equations

In this paper, by using variational methods and critical point theorems, we prove the existence and multiplicity of solutions for boundary value problem for fractional order differential equations where Riemann-Liouville fractional derivatives and Caputo fractional derivatives are used. Our results extend the second order boundary value problem to the non integer case. Moreover, some conditions to determinate nonnegative solutions are presented and examples are given to illustrate our results.

Valuing cultural heritage: the social benefits of restoring and old Arab tower

Abstract Cultural heritage protection is a key issue around the world today. In this paper, the contingent valuation method has been applied to obtain the social benefits that stem from the restoration of an old Arab tower in the Valencia Region of Spain. Due to a current and past lack of protection, the remains of this historic monument are few. Therefore, 252 individuals were randomly interviewed. On conducting our study we distinguished between low, average, and high consumers of cultural goods. The synthetic cannabinoid WIN 55,212-2 is a potent cannabinoid receptor agonist with anticancer potential. Experiments were performed to determine the effects of WIN on proliferation, cell cycle distribution, and programmed cell death in human osteosarcoma MG63 and Saos-2 cells. Results show that WIN induced G2/M cell cycle arrest, which was associated with the induction of the main markers of ER stress (GRP78, CHOP and TRB3). In order to characterize the pressure-induced decomposition of ringwoodite (c-Mg2SiO4), the topological analysis of the electron density q(r), based upon the theory of atoms in molecules (AIM) developed by Bader in the framework of the catastrophe theory, has been performed.
