Public responses to intimate partner violence against women: the influence of perceived severity and personal responsibility.

This paper explored public willingness to act when exposed to cases of intimate partner violence against women, by analyzing the influence of perceived severity and personal responsibility on two types of responses: mediating and reporting to the police. Results (N = 419) yielded main effects of personal responsibility for both types of responses. No main effects of perceived severity were found. A significant interaction between perceived severity and personal responsibility was found only for reporting responses. Results are discussed in light of the helping behavior research tradition. THE ORGANIZATION AND CURRENT PROBLEMS OF POLICE WORK The Police perform one of the most important roles within the modern society from the viewpoint of providing and maintaining peace, order and security. In the Slovak Republic the Police have been in existence for a relatively short time, but legislation regulating their activities and structure has already undergone several reforms. This treatise contains information regarding the structure and tasks of the Police of the Slovak Republic, discusses the development of criminality within the Slovak Republic, and analyses the current social status of the Police.

Riconoscendo nel policentrismo il modello insediativo che contraddistingue l’Unione Europea e nell’armatura delle città di secondo livello potenzialità alternative di sviluppo, la cui forza propulsiva è intrinseca nel loro specifico milieu e nelle differenze che alimentano le opportunità di connessione, si ritiene che le città debbano diventare generatori di flussi, produttori di identità, economie e nuove geografie, creare dinamismo urbano e interazioni spaziali capaci di attrarre reti locali e globali. È necessario, pertanto, definire meglio il ruolo delle città, le modalità di interazione e di sviluppo nel più ampio contesto territoriale.

Therefore, the Family Allowance System might be seen as a privileged watchtower where it is possible to observe complex and dynamic relationships between the family, the State and the market.
