Per una voce sola. Intertestualità e intermedialità nella scrittura di Michele Mar
2022
The aim of this paper is to compare three recent republications of Michele Mari’s works, Di bestia in bestia (1989 Longanesi and 2013 Einaudi), Asterusher. Autobiografia per feticci (2015 and 2019 Corraini edizioni) and Leggenda privata (2017 Einaudi),which all show consistent changes. The intention is precisely to point out the reciprocal relationships between these works and the different ways they have been transformed, both in the cases of literary writing alone and in those involving phototextual forms, in order to trace a possible unity of intent. In Di bestia in bestia Mari chooses to thin out the novel ; in the second case to increase the number of pages of the phototext, and in the…
What olive oil for healthy ageing
2015
The olive tree originated in Asia Minor around 6000 years ago and then spread to all the Mediterranean basin. Olive oil is extracted from the pulp of its fruits [1–3]. Many studies show that the nutritional pattern of the so-called Mediterranean Diet is associated with a lower incidence of age-related diseases related to inflammation and oxidative stress, such as cardiovascular disease, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and cancer [4–7]. It is now clear that olive oil, as a main source of fat, must play a key role in explaining the health benefits of the Mediterranean Diet.

PROGNOSTIC VALUE OF ESTIMATED GLOMERULAR FILTRATION RATE IN HOSPITALIZED ELDERLY PATIENTS
2013
A multicenter observational study, REPOSI (REgustri POliterapie Società Italiana di Medicina Interna), was conducted to assess the prognostic value of glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) on in-hospital mortality, hospital readmission and death within 3 months, in a sample of elderly patients (n=1,363) admitted to 66 internal medicine and geriatric wards. Bases on eGFR, calculated by the new Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) formula, subjects at hostpital admission were classified into three groups: group 1 with normal eGFR (60 ml/min/1.73m2, reference group), group 2 with moderately reduced eGFR (30-59 ml/min/1.73 m2) and group 3 with severely reduced eGFR (<30 ml/m…
gastric polypoid lesions. Our ecperience.
2010
BACKGROUND AND AIM: The Authors report the results of their experience on polypoids lesions of the stomach and on endoscopic polypectomies. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A study on 2000 OGD (oesophagogastroduodenoscopy) has been carried out on 95 patients with polypoid lesions. The authors have analysed the associations existing between histological type and symptomatology and localisation of the lesion and the status of the Helicobacter pylori and the risk of cancerization. The data were confronted with the ones already available. RESULTS: In the majority of the cases, the polypoid lesions were asymptomatic, the localization changed according to the histological type, with the antrum as the most a…
HUMAN FIBRIN GLUE SEALING VERSUS SUTURE POLYPROPYLENE FIXATION IN LICHTENSTEIN INGUINAL HERNIORRAPHY: A PROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL STUDY.
2014
Background: Patients who underwent primary inguinal hernia repair still report a high rate of postoperative pain after operation due to effect of mesh fixation by suture. An alternative is the use of human fibrin glue. We compared the two techniques. Methods: 468 patients randomly underwent primary inguinal hernia Lichtenstein repair fixing the mesh by suture or by human fibrin glue (HFG); in both cases themesh was fixed to the posterior wall of the inguinal canal and to the inguinal legament. results: No significant differences were recorded between the two groups in terms of complications, while the sutureless technique reduces the operative time and the postoperative pain. Conclusions: A…
The use of a tailored mesh with special design for ventral hernia repair. Preliminary report
2009
Introduction: The study describes a modified technique for ventral hernia repair based upon a tension free, fixation free, and dynamic compliant implant. Material and methods: A unique geometrical shaped light weighted, large porous polypropylene mesh was created consisting of a large central body and six radial arms, designed to pass through the tissues and hold the mesh in place without tension. We used the mesh in a small exploratory cohort of patients with ventral hernia. The mesh was placed sublay by taking each of the six straps and passing from below the muscle, through the muscle allowing the fixation free strap to sit with friction within the tissues. This was designed to give a te…
