En este artículo se pretende analizar la relación entre el polifacético músico valenciano Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco (1871-1970) y los hermanos Iturbi: Amparo (1898-1969) y José (1895-1980), pianistas valencianos de gran proyección internacional en la primera mitad del siglo XX. El contenido principal de este trabajo se basa en el epistolario de Chavarri, centrando la atención en las cartas enviadas por José y Amparo. Gracias a estos materiales obtenemos la información y, sobre todo, el tipo de relación establecida entre los hermanos Iturbi y Chavarri en la etapa que va de 1911 a 1965. Although a small number of studies have attempted to introduce automatic grouping procedures into thin section petrography of archaeological ceramics, the majority of studies continue to be carried out by non-automatic means. Presentamos en estas páginas once nuevas inscripciones romanas sobre diversos soportes, que han aparecido en la última década en diferentes excavaciones en localidades próximas a Valencia y en la propia ciudad, todas ellas dentro del territorium de la antigua Valentia. This article presents eleven new Roman inscriptions on various supports that were found in the last decade in different excavations in locations situated in the vicinity of Valencia and in the city itself, all of them within the territorium of the ancient city of Valentia.
A 350,000-year climatic record from the loess sequence of Achenheim, Alsace, France

Up to now the best Quaternary climatic sequences come from oceanic isotope studies, but terrestrial sequences are also well known, usually for pollen or ice core data. A new sequence providing climatic information for the last 500,000 years has been studied in the loess series of Achenheim (Alsace), using the mollusc record in relation to other stratigraphical data. Mollusc assemblages are analysed using a multivariate method. The correspondence analysis used here allows us to explain, in ecological terms, the general variability of the Achenheim set. Pergamum (modern: Bergama) was operating an important harbour used by military forces and merchants at the city of Elaia during Hellenistic and Roman Imperial times. Harbour-related facilities such as warehouses, breakwaters and wharfs document the importance of this harbour site not only for the Pergamenians. This paper focuses on the purpose and age of six submerged wall structures situated approximately 1 km south of the ancient closed harbour basin of Elaia. Geoelectric cross-sections and semi-aquatic coring near these walls failed to detect any solid basement under the walls which excludes their possible use as breakwaters or wharfs. In this chapter, we present a new approach for the design of choice task experiments that analyze the final respondent’s choice but not the decision process.1 The approach creates choice tasks with a one-to-one correspondence between decision strategies and the observed choices. Thus, a decision strategy used is unambiguously deduced from an observed choice. Abstract Interpreting and simulating hydrological processes need a large number of field saturated soil hydraulic conductivity, Kfs , data that should be collected with simple and rapid field experiments. A Simplified method based on a Beerkan Infiltration run (SBI method) was recently developed and tested successfully on Burundian soils. With the SBI method, a cylinder is inserted to a short depth into the soil and the infiltration time of a few small volumes of water repeatedly applied at the surface of the confined soil is measured.
