Energetic demands and nutritional strategies of elite cross-country skiers during Tour de Ski : A narrative review

The Tour de Ski (TDS: 6–9 sprint and distance races across 9–11 days) represents the most intense competition series of the cross-country (XC) ski season and is characterized by accumulated stress from consecutive days of high-intensity (~ 85%–160% VO2max) racing, travel, cold temperatures and low to moderate altitude (500–1500 m above sea level). Development of Henneguya zschokkei (Myxozoa: Myxosporea) actinospores in oligochaetes and plasmodia in whitefish Coregonous lavaretus

The aim of this study was to describe the life cycle of H. zschokkei by observing the development of actinospores in oligochaete and the morphological development of H. zschokkei cysts in whitefish. Laboratory observation of seasonal occurrence of actinospores sampled from oligochaetes from RTKL Tervo Fish Farm revealed 6 types of actinospores from collective groups of Triactinomyxon, Raabeia and Aurantiactinomyxon in 2010, and 3 types of actinospores in 2011. Both years showed similar patterns with the release of actinospores peaking in both summer (June and July) and winter (January and February) times. Siian rakkoloisio (Henneguya zschokkei) on Myxozoa-pääjaksoon kuuluva itiöloinen. Myxozoa-loisilla on monimutkainen elämänkierto, joka pitää sisällään sekä selkärangattoman että selkärankaisen isäntäeliön. Siian rakkoloision pääisäntä on harvasukamato (Oligochaeta) ja väli-isäntä on siika (Coregonus lavaretus). Rakkoloisiota on tavattu mahdollisesti myös muikulla (C. albula). Loisitun kalan lihaksessa on valkoisia ellipsin muotoisia kystejä, joiden sisällä on maitomaista nestettä. Neste sisältää suuren määrän mikroskooppisia kaksihäntäisiä myksospoori-itiöitä. Księga Sofoniasza rozpoczyna się dramatyczną wizją sądu Bożego wobec odstępstwa ludu wybranego, który ma się dokonać w Dzień Pański (So 1,2-18). Jednak końcowy fragment tego pierwszego proroctwa (So 2,1-3), zawiera mocne wezwanie do zmiany takiego postępowania, które prowadziło nieuchronnie do zagłady. Lud Boży winien zgromadzić się na nowo zanim nastąpi tragedia. Ci, którzy odpowiadają na wezwanie, prorok nazywa ubogimi Pana, jako ludzi zdolnych zachowywać Jego Prawo. Nawrócenie realizuje się w postawie szukania Pana, które konkretnie realizuje się w pełnieniu sprawiedliwości i życiu pokornym. Tylko w takiej postawie istnieje nadzieja na ocalenie w dniu Bożego sądu.

Kirja lähestyy aihettaan tuoreista näkökulmista. Artikkelikokoelma korostaa vaivaisukkojen ainutlaatuisuutta kulttuurituotteina ja osoittaa, kuinka monipuolisesti niitä on mahdollista tutkia. International Assessment Surveys of Educational Achievement in Developing Countries : Why Education Economists Should Care

International audience; This paper reviews the most known international assessment studies that are conducted in the context of poor countries and highlights the lack of empirical evidence on the degree to which the contents of the tests really match countries' curricula. To illustrate, the paper evaluates the sensitivity of an international testing instrument by comparing the responses of students in two consecutive grades on the same battery of tests. Using propensity score matching to control for student and teacher characteristics, the results show that the tests are not grade sensitive, which raises the question of the validity of many empirical works that are based on similar instrume…
