Sintering of copper nanopowders under hydrogen: an in situ X-ray diffraction analysis.

2003

Abstract The reduction by hydrogen gas of the cuprite layer on copper nanocrystals and the subsequent sintering of the nano-particles were studied using in-situ X-ray diffraction and dilatometry. Spherical nanocrystals produced by evaporation and condensation have an average size of 35 nm, exhibiting a large surface curvature. Each nanoparticle is coated with a 3.5 nm layer of Cu 2 O, which is rough and disordered, as revealed by high-resolution electron microscopy. Reduction by hydrogen of this curved cuprite layer occurs at 363 K, which is ≈65 K lower than is observed on a layer supported by micrometer-sized or bulk copper with a flat surface. The reduction process and its effect on the s…

Social Proximity and Environmental NGO Relationships in Corporate Sustainability Reports

2014

This study demonstrates how three Finnish companies constructed their stakeholder relationships with environmental NGOs (ENGOs) in terms of social proximity in their sustainability reports between 2003 and 2012. The study identifies five types of stakeholder relationship between ENGOs and corporations constructed in the reports: monetary, management system, collaborative, dialogue and conflicting. Within these relationships the level of constructed social proximity and level of trust vary. The results indicate that, within the 10 years we examined, a change has occurred in the ENGO relationships constructed in corporate sustainability reports: they have shifted from being non-stakeholder re…

In this dynamic context, it is interesting to study the evolution of the relationship between performance and governance. Does governance still affect performance? The purpose of this paper is to verify the presence and intensity (extent) of the relationship between corporate governance and performance in Italian listed companies by using both accounting and non-accounting performance measures. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of prior firm performance on board composition and governance structure of some companies listed on the Italian stock exchange, an…

Responsabilité sociale de l'entreprise et pratique de gestion des ressources humaines.

2006

As far as human resource management practices (HRM) are concerned, how do French companies respondto corporate social responsibility (CSR)? Are they eager to develop practices beyond the existing legal rules? To answer these questions, we present the results of an inquiry involving 106 HR managers who mainlybelong to large manufacturing companies. Their statements, collected by questionnaire, are focused on a few“responsible” HRM practices:– Recruiting practices in favour of disabled or non skilled persons;– Training practices promoting the access or the return to work;– Communication practices encouraging the dialog between the managers and the employees.According to our results, the HR man…

L’impresa socialmente irresponsabile: un primo itinerario di giurisprudenza, anche in prospettiva comparata

2021

The essay aims to analyse the most recent national and international case law in the light of corporate social responsibility theories. Starting with the study of judgments where European and North-American Courts have ruled for their jurisdiction over enterprises’ abusive conducts in foreign countries, this paper will investigate possible criteria of imposing liability on corporations, such as the duty of care, the enterprise liability theory or violations of code of conducts.
