Corporate image is a crucial aspect of public utility communications. Strictly speaking, it involves the image (or identity) of a company insofar as the English word, corporation, corresponds to “company” in Italian. However, in general, its semantic meaning can be used for different agencies, political parties, town councils or cultural assets. Since this issue of the magazine focuses entirely on public utility communications, we can further discuss the meaning of corporate image by considering the Irish town of Cork – the 2005 European Capital of the Culture – as an agency that promotes its cultural identity by using a series of communication strategies.
A cost-effective method for estimating di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate in coastal sediments.

This study describes the development of a new method for the analysis of di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) using 0.1-0.3 g of sediment sample, based on matrix solid phase dispersion (MSPD) using C18 as dispersant phase (0.4 g) and acetonitrile-water as eluting solvent (3.4 mL 1:3.25, v/v). No evaporation step is required. 3 mL of extracts were processed on-line by in-tube solid phase microextraction (IT-SPME) coupled to capillary liquid chromatography (CapLC) and diode array detector (DAD). A short analytical column Zorbax SB C18 (35×0.5 mm, 5 μm) provided suitable results. FTIR-ATR was employed for characterizing sediment samples and MSPD procedure. How Does Dialogue Really Take Place in a Democratic Transition?

Our aim in this paper is to examine and critically reflect the nature of the dialogic processes in the case of a national dialogue in a project of democracy construction. The case deals with development of a new democratic constitution subsequent to Tunisia's Arab Spring revolution of 2011, a process experienced and documented by the first author. We explore how dialogue did and did not take place in the constitutional process. Theoretical interest lies in the preconditions for dialogue, the fundamentals and functions of dialogue, and the questions of power and power asymmetries especially from the deliberative and emancipative perspectives. peerReviewed
