Sieviešu tēlu salīdzinājums E. A. Po un S. Kinga darbos

Sieviešu tēli šausmu žanra darbos mēdz būt ļoti atšķirīgi, īpaši, ja šie darbi ir tapuši dažādos laikmetos. Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir analizēt un salīdzināt sieviešu tēlu atainojumu Edgara Alana Po un Stīvena Kinga darbos. Teorētiskā literatūra liecina, ka sievietes tēls gotiskajā žanrā ir negatīvs, sievietes tiek attēlotas kā ļaunas un briesmīgas. Tomēr mūsdienu literatūra ļauj radīt dažādus sieviešu tēlus. Turklāt E. A. Po sieviešu tēls ir saistīts ar viņa dzīves sieviešu tēliem. Savukārt Kinga sievietes bieži tiek attēlotas, pamatojoties uz viņu ķermeņa fiziskajām iespējām. This doctoral thesis combines historical and communication approaches, focusing on how old age is portrayed in contemporary French society. Whether through the analysis of political speeches, commercials, or by studying cinematic and literary characters, we discover that there is a consistent approach in the portrayal of old age. This doctoral research demonstrates why these portrayals result in an historical evolution, in an ideology of « youthism », as well as reflecting current society’s views. The purpose of my study is to examine how female skiers are represented in the texts of a Finnish sports magazine, Urheilulehti, and how these representations have changed during the examination period from 1905 to 2010. Relying on Judith Butler’s ideology of gender performativity, I analyse the representations of female skiers from the perspective of promoting the traditional female norm and simultaneously from the perspective of breaking and reforming it.
