Maģistra darbā „Pārkāpuma estētika jaunākajā latviešu prozā” ir pētīta transgresijas jeb pārkāpuma estētikas ģenēze jaunākajā latviešu prozā, par pamatu izmantojot 20. gadsimta franču intelektuālās elites teorētisko mantojumu, mūsdienu filozofiju, un aktuālās tendences cittautu literatūrzinātnē. Yhteisöllisyys suomalaisessa konemusiikkikulttuurissa harrastajien näkökulmasta

Konemusiikkikulttuurissa ilmenevää yhteisöllisyyttä on tutkittu Suomessa melko vähän. Tutkimuksessani olen pyrkinyt selvittämään kuinka konemusiikin harrastajat kokevat yhteisöllisyyden sekä kuinka yhteisöllisyys ilmenee ja miten sitä ylläpidetään. Kyseessä oli kvalitatiivinen eli laadullinen tutkimus. Toteutin tutkimuksen survey-tutkimuksena teemahaastattelun muodossa, jota varten haastattelin kahta konemusiikin harrastajaa sähköpostitse. Haastateltavien kertomusten perusteella yhteisöllisyys koetaan yhteenkuuluvuuden tunteena, yhdessä tekemisen ja välittämisenä kautta sekä hyvänä olona ja ilmapiirinä. Lines of development in social research on disability in Finland between the years 1970–2010

This article reviews the development of social research on disability conducted in Finland during the 40-year period from 1970 until 2010. The main focus is the connection of the research with the socioeconomic development of the country. The review starts from the emergence of a new disability service paradigm during the late 1960s. This new paradigm centred around the concept of rehabilitation, and had its roots in the birth of a postmodern welfare state during the same decade. The second shift began during the 1980s and was characterized by the precedence of human rights issues. Science fiction parody in Don Rosa’s ”Attack of the Hideous Space-Varmints"

This article concentrates on the comic “Attack of the Hideous Space Varmints” (1997) by Disney artist Don Rosa. The comic deals with Earthlings who invade the territory of one-eyed aliens. The aim is to study Rosa’s comic from a parodic perspective: how Rosa uses science fiction tropes characteristic to the 1950s cinema and comics and ridicules them. My methods consist of close reading followed by formalist comic analysis. While doing so, I also utilize the concept of metalepsis. The article explores Roberta Torre’s film Sud Side Stori (2000), an extravagant Italian re-vision of Romeo and Juliet set in the Sicilian city of Palermo which displays awareness of the global circulation of the story of the two ‘‘star-crossed lovers’’. In the film, which combines neo-realist cinematographic techniques with the artificial style of the musical, Shakespeare’s young lovers become Toni Giulietto, a lousy local rock singer, and Romea Wacoubo, a beautiful Nigerian prostitute who falls in love with him when she sees him standing on his balcony. This article aims to analyse critically the so-called “new realism” and to evaluate its pedagogical and educational consequences. By examining the objections made by this philosophy to the postmodernist culture, the author agrees on some aspects of its theory of knowledge. On the other hand, the article highlights the lack of adequate anthropology and possible consequences of the “new realism” on educational thought and practice. The proposal of an ontology of the person wellestablished in the tradition of phenomenological realism is seen as dialectics of the “new realism”.
