Background Tube implants can lead to long-term decompensation of the cornea after decades, in particular in complicated childhood glaucoma, because of a variety of causes including contact between the tube tip and the corneal endothelium. Introduction and objectives: There is current controversy regarding the benefits of percutaneous recanalization (PCI) of chronic total coronary occlusions (CTO). Our aim was to determine acute and follow-up outcomes in our setting. Methods: Two-year prospective registry of consecutive patients undergoing PCI of CTO in 24 centers. Results: A total of 1000 PCIs of CTO were performed in 952 patients. Most were symptomatic (81.5%), with chronic ischemic heart disease (59.2%). Previous recanalization attempts had been made in 15%. Background: Median sternotomy is the most frequently used incision for cardiac procedures but carries a substantial risk for deep sternal wound infections and/or sternal dehiscence. In contrast to previous studies that examined risk factors for sternal infections this study evaluates factors that lead to poor outcome after surgical revision of the non healing sternum. Methods: Between 1985 and 1999, 193 adults (mean age 64 ± 9 years, m/f = 3/1) necessitated sternal revisions (incidence 1.93%). Pre-, intra- and post-operative risk factors were evaluated for their influence on the outcome after sternal revision. PURPOSE Radical perineal prostatectomy has recently attracted renewed interest and wider acceptance as an alternative route to the retropubic approach. While presumed lower morbidity is one reason for perineal prostatectomy we evaluated our patients for complications that are specific for the perineal approach. Retrobulbar anesthesia complicated by combined central retinal vein and artery occlusion and massive vitreoretinal fibrosis.

Retrobulbar anaesthesia is routine procedure in ocular surgery. Complication are infrequent but often severe, involving both retina and the optic nerve. we report a case of combined central retinal vein and artery occlusion, secondary to retrobulbar anaesthesia, which evolved into retinal ischemia and Vitreoretinal fibrosis. This is the first time to our knowledge that such a dramatic evolution of post traumatic retinal occlusion has been reported.

Objectives: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and sexual dysfunctions are diseases with a high prevalence in aged men. Several studies have found a link between BPH and LUTS resulting from deterioration in sexual function in men aged 50 years and older for whom TURP is considered the gold standard.
