St Barbara is a patroness saint deeply ingrained in the culture of Upper Silesia. It was chiefly the 19th century that was deciding in this respect, since the process of linking the martyr-woman to the miners’ occupational group was concluded then. The miners’ community played a significant role in the socioeconomic and identityrelated character of the region. Today a very effective crop protection is necessary to improve the production of good quality wine and to limit the environmental pollution. Field tests were carried out in a Sicilian vineyard using two different sprayers, in tree periods, each corresponding to a different canopy distribution. The objective of this research was to determinate the best operative solution in order to obtain an effective vineyard protection. International audience; Site specific spraying is one way to reduce the amount of herbicide required to control weeds. The impact of boom section width was investigated by using simulated weed infestation maps with various weed coverage rates. Herbicide applications were simulated combining these virtual maps with various boom sections widths and various theoretical spray patterns. Following that, the author described one of these methods which assumed curing by praying, outlining the fimction of belief and its effectiveness which was experienced by Jan Fabisiak. Artykuł prezentuje antropologiczny aspekt (punkt widzenia) modlitwy chrześcijańskiej. Chodzi o spojrzenia na modlitwę od strony człowieka, o wgląd w ludzką postać modlitwy, czyli istoty psychofizyczno-duchowej wychylonej ku Bogu. Można rozpatrywać modlitwę z Bożej i ludzkiej perspektywy. Istnieje bowiem nierozerwalny związek modlącego się z Bogiem. Abstract On the fringes of post-Reformation Europe, church and state authorities faced problems in enforcing church attendance. In the Swedish kingdom, religious uniformity was seen as vital for the success of the state after the Lutheran confession had been established, and absences from church were punishable by law. The seventeenth century saw significant tightening of legislation relating to church absences and other breaches of the Sabbath, and severe punishments were introduced.
