Biomechanical comparison between sprint start, sled-pulling and selected squat type exercises

The purpose of the present study was to compare kinetics, kinematics and muscle activity between sprint start, sled-pulling and selected squat type exercises and also to examine how different exercises and variables correlate with the performance time of the block start (10 m). Valmentajaseminaarityö on jaettu kahteen osaan. Ensimmäisessä osassa tutustutaan yleisesti uinnin ja sprinttivapaauinnin fyysisiin ja psyykkisiin ominaispiirteisiin sekä tekniikkaan. Lisäksi ensimmäisessä osassa tutustutaan suomalaisen uinnin valmennusjärjestelmään huippu-urheilun näkökulmasta. Toisessa osassa tutustutaan päätoimisen 24 -vuotiaan naisuimarin harjoittelun osa-alueisiin ja kokonaisuuteen. Lajin ominaispiirteet. Beware of the “poverty migrant”: media discourses on EU labour migration and the welfare state in Germany and the UK

Abstract This article examines the role of the media in the EU freedom of movement debate through the lens of high-circulation German and UK newspapers during the first half of 2014. It explores how the media problematised migration from Eastern European member states and its influence on national host country labour markets and welfare systems. It also analyses how different media outlets positioned themselves in relation to relevant policies or policy proposals. Application of molecular imprinted polymers for selective solid phase extraction of bisphenol A

Selective molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) with bisphenol A as template were synthesized using the non-covalent imprinting approach. MIPs were prepared using thermally initiated polymerization with 1,1’-azobis(cyclohexanecarbonitryle) (ACHN) as initiator and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EDMA) as a cross-linking agent. The tested functional monomers included methacrylic acid, acrylamide, and 4-vinylpyridine. The selectivity of the BPA-MIP for the solid phase extraction of bisphenol A was tested in samples containing other related alkylphenols. Lai gan lielākā pētījumu daļa ir saistīta ar valodas lietojumu profesionālos rakstos un runās, šis darbs pievērsa uzmanību valodas lietojumam reklāmas diskursā. Tā kā reklāmas jēdziens visbiežāk ir pētīts mārketinga jomā, šī darba mērķis bija uzzināt, kāda ir humora loma drukātā reklāmā. Darbs fokusējās uz modificēto iespraudumiem izmantošanu smieklīgās reklāmās, jo šis instruments ietver netiešo nozīmi.
