In this paper, we analyzed the current situation and the potential of biophotonics and biomedical optics in veterinary medicine. Promising optical techniques such as optical coherence tomography, pulse oximeter, and hyperspectral imaging have been clinically translated into human medicine. But even though human and small animal medicine share personalized and state-of-the-art approach, biophotonics remains rarely exploited in the canine and feline medicine. Systematic reviews of balance control have tended to only focus on the effects of single lower-limb stimulation strategies, and a current limitation is the lack of comparison between different relevant stimulation strategies. The main focus of this paper is on bilevel optimization on Hilbert spaces involving two monotone equilibrium bifunctions. We present a new achievement consisting on the introduction of inertial methods for solving this type of problems. In this paper, we introduce an inertial proximal method for solving a bilevel problem involving two monotone equilibrium bifunctions in Hilbert spaces. Under suitable conditions and without any restrictive assumption on the trajectories, the weak and strong convergence of the sequence generated by the iterative method are established. Two particular cases illustrating the proposed method are thereafter discussed with respect to hierarchical minimization problems and equilibrium problems under saddle point constraint. On the a posteriori error analysis for linear Fokker-Planck models in convection-dominated diffusion problems

This work is aimed at the derivation of reliable and efficient a posteriori error estimates for convection-dominated diffusion problems motivated by a linear Fokker-Planck problem appearing in computational neuroscience. We obtain computable error bounds of the functional type for the static and time-dependent case and for different boundary conditions (mixed and pure Neumann boundary conditions). Finally, we present a set of various numerical examples including discussions on mesh adaptivity and space-time discretisation. The numerical results confirm the reliability and efficiency of the error estimates derived.

Exact constants in Poincaré type inequalities for functions with zero mean boundary traces

In this paper, we investigate Poincare type inequalities for the functions having zero mean value on the whole boundary of a Lipschitz domain or on a measurable part of the boundary. We find exact and easily computable constants in these inequalities for some basic domains (rectangles, cubes, and right triangles) and discuss applications of the inequalities to quantitative analysis of partial differential equations.
