Novel bibliographic maps to guide research units
2014
National audience; Publication is a major issue for research evaluation. As a consequence research units need strategies to improve their publications. Bibliometry and cartography are new tools to study the publications of research teams. In particular bibliometry give an overall picture and good criteria to choose a strategy for publishing and to guide the priorities of research. Here we studied the publications of the INRA Agroécologie research unit, Dijon. This unit has 107 scientists and professors, equivalent 80 full-time positions for research, and published 125 original articles in 2012. We present several examples of maps and measurements obtained using Web of science, Excel, Sphinx…

Multi-modal image fusion for small animal studies in in-line PET /3T MRI
2015
Congrès sous l’égide de la Société Française de Génie Biologique et Médical (SFGBM).; National audience; In the framework of small animal multi-modal imaging, the current progression of the IMAPPI project is illustrated by the design of an in-line PET/MRI prototype, coupled to a dedicated multi-resolution registration method allowing the robust fusion of data coming from both modalities. The first results show a good alignment of the data from tumor imaging at the level of the abdomen.
Flavour release and perception
2012
Flavour perception is a complex combination of the olfactory, gustatory and trigeminal sensations perceived during eating. During this eating process, tastants must be dissolved into saliva to be transported to the taste bud receptor cell membranes and aroma compounds have to be released in the oral cavity then transferred to the nasal cavity to reach the olfactory receptors. This release highly depends on food composition and structure, on the molecular properties of the stimuli but also on physiological characteristics of individuals and mastication behaviour. However, interactions occur between texture, taste and aroma perception at different levels: physic-chemical interactions in the f…
Robotics for weed control: I-Weed Robot for a specific spraying
2012
International audience; To preserve environment for a sustainable agriculture, we explore the development of a new autonomous robot, called I-Weed Robot (Intelligent Weed Robot), which aims at reducing herbicides in crop fields (maize, sunflower...). Using a high precision positioning signal (RTK) to locate the robot in the field, a Kaman filter and a proportional-integral-derivative controller (PID controller) allow adjusting the orientation of the robot depending on a predefined trajectory. As for the spraying system, a camera in front of the mobile platform detects weed plants thanks to an image processing based on a crop/weed discrimination algorithm (Hough Transform). At the back a spr…
Close-Range Photogrammetric Tools for Epigraphic Surveys
2016
In this article, we present a method to carry out a computerized epigraphic survey of historic stones and their engraved epigraphy. In fact, the preservation of archaeological objects has always been an issue of concern for the research community. On the one hand, the fragility of the objects limits their study. On the other hand, such objects are housed in museums, libraries, and institutions worldwide, locations that significantly limit their accessibility. Different survey methods have been carried out in these attempts to overcome the aforementioned limitations. Among them, the MicMac open source software was used in this work to survey and process the dense correlation of the hieroglyp…

Analysis of georeferenced landscape pictures extracted from public picture collections
2019
National audience; Today photo-sharing websites allow citizen to share their pictures. Pictures taken by sensor-equipped devices such as smartphones or tablet-computers keep the information where (in terms of coordinates and azimuth angle), when and with which device a picture has been taken. We have developed a method that uses the coordinates of the camera position as well as the azimuth angle, the focal length and the crop factor in order to calculate a 3D field of view of a picture using a digital terrain model (DTM). This field of view can thereafter be used for the determination of interest in spatial features. Similar methods that are based on viewsheds have been described by Tenerell…
