AbstractAdvising and mentoring Ph.D. students is an increasingly important aspect of the academic profession. We define and interpret a family of metrics (collectively referred to as “a-indices”) that can potentially be applied to “ranking academic advisors” using the academic genealogical records of scientists, with the emphasis on taking into account not only the number of students advised by an individual, but also subsequent academic advising records of those students. L’objet de notre travail est, simultanément, de modéliser la représentation socioprofessionnelle qu’ont les étudiant·es infirmier·es de leur futur métier, d’en analyser l’ancrage et l’impact du genre. À partir d’une méthode d’évocation par induction hiérarchisée et d’entretiens semi-directifs, des différences associées au genre apparaissent dans la structure de la représentation, plus consensuelle chez les femmes. In this chapter, I discuss corporate art collections as part of national cultural heritage and semi-public collections. Corporate art is seen through the lenses of collecting, various professions and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Kunnilla on laaja itsehallinto, joka mahdollistaa paikalliset ratkaisut sosiaalityön johtamisessa ja siten ammattilaisten asemassa. Artikkelin tavoitteena on tarkastella professionaalisuuden tilaa työpaikkakohtaisesti kunnallisessa lastensuojelussa ja toimeentulotukityössä. Selvitimme organisaatiokulttuureja ja organisaatioilmapiirejä ”Organisaation sosiaalinen konteksti” -lomakekyselyllä. Kyselyyn osallistuivat 14 suuren ja keskikokoisen kunnan sosiaalihuollon vähintään viiden hengen suuruiset työyhteisöt. Tutkielmassa selvitetään yhden ammattikunnan eli ylemmän ammattikorkeakoulututkinnon suorittaneen sosionomin työmarkkina-aseman nostamiseen liittyvää nykykeskustelua. Yritän ottaa selvää, missä määrin Michel Foucault`n genealoginen valta-analytiikka jäsentää kyseistä kamppailua strategisen toiminnan ja voimasuhteiden näkökulmasta. English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher educators play a key role in the development of university-based teacher education and the preparation of preservice EFL teachers. However, the professional agency of EFL teacher educators in developing their work remains understudied. Employing a Vygotskian sociocultural theoretical perspective, this research considers the individual and collective professional agency of eight EFL teacher educators at two Finnish universities.
