A New Environment for Distributed Multiple Vehicles Dynamics Control and Simulation
2007
Although there are many simulation softwares, the 3D multi-vehicle field needs further study. This paper describes a lightweight, full portable software environment for development, simulation and control of vehicles. This environment simulates ground wheeled vehicles and their environment. Multi vehicle study can be done adding the vehicle mathematical model and the 3D graphical model. The scenario is displayed as a 3D virtual reality environment in which all the objects are rendered using a combination of 3D primitive and/or pre-built 3D objects loaded from file. Since the software is made up of a set of multi-treading object-oriented Java classes, there are many advantages as portability…
Jason Intentional Learning: An Operational Semantics
2013
This paper introduces an operational semantics for defining Intentional Learning on Jason, the well known Java-based implementation of AgentSpeak(L). This semantics enables Jason to define agents capable of learning the reasons for adopting intentions based on their own experience. In this work, the use of the term Intentional Learning is strictly circumscribed to the practical rationality theory where plans are predefined and the target of the learning processes is to learn the reasons to adopt them as intentions. Top-Down Induction of Logical Decision Trees (TILDE) has proved to be a suitable mechanism for supporting learning on Jason: the first-order representation of TILDE is adequate t…
Java Integrated Development Environments' Support for Reuse-Oriented Software Development
2002
Component reuse is a promising direction to develop software more efficiently and cost effectively. One part of software development is the actual programming with an integrated development environment (IDE). We studied three Java IDEs and how they support reuse-oriented software development. We derived evaluation criteria from a known reuse model. As a conclusion we suggest that current Java IDEs need to improve their support for the reuse process.
La capilla de la Virgen de Campanar en Valencia: tradición popular erigida en erudita retórica visual
2018
This chapel forms part of the parochial church of Campanar, which belongs to the municipality of Valencia. The Virgen de Campanar (Virgin of Campanar) is an image executed in alabaster, discovered on the subfloor of the church of this place on February 19th, 1596, by some construction workers who were undertaking some remodeling at that time. From that moment forward it began to be worshipped by the masses as a miraculous image. Among its alleged properties we find the mysterious fact that powder from its plaster had miraculous effects: it was taken dissolved in water to cure the sick or to assure a healthy birth for pregnant women, and it even calmed storms at sea if it was thrown into the…

Ketterät menetelmät ja CMMI: yhteensopivia vai -sopimattomia?
2009
Kuhno, Hanna Maria Ketterät menetelmät ja CMMI: yhteensopivia vai -sopimattomia?/Hanna Kuhno Jyväskylä: Jyväskylän yliopisto, 2009 47 s. Kandidaatintutkielma Tässä tutkielmassa tutustutaan ketterien menetelmien soveltamiseen CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) nimisen prosessien kypsyystasomallin yhteydessä.
Some thoughts about the conceptual / procedural distinction in translation: a key-logging and eye-tracking study of processing effort
2014
This article builds on the conceptual / procedural distinction postulated by Relevance Theory to investigate processing effort in translation task execution. Drawing on relevance-theoretic assumptions, it assumes that instances related to procedural encodings will require more effortful processing not only in relation to the time spent on the task but also in terms of product indicators such as seconds per word and number of micro translation units per word. Drawing on key-logging and eye-tracking data, the article shows that there are statistically significant differences when conceptual and procedural encodings are analysed in selected areas of interest, with instances related to procedur…

Solving NP-Complete Problems with Networks of Evolutionary Processors
2001
We propose a computational device based on evolutionary rules and communication within a network, similar to that introduced in [4], called network of evolutionary processors. An NP-complete problem is solved by networks of evolutionary processors of linear size in linear time. Some furher directions of research are finally discussed.
Knowledge management in developing regions: the case of Valle de Aburrá, Colombia
2019
This study aims to identify the components of a knowledge management (KM) model to support innovation governance in a Colombian cosmetics cluster. The inter-organisational management of knowledge applied to innovation governance, and the perspective of endogenous economic development emphasises the structural specificities of developing countries. In line with this objective, the community-based participatory research (CBPR) and Delphi methods were combined to collect information from the cluster's different stakeholders, among them dependent shareholders who expressed their views through spokespersons. In an initial stage, a knowledge management model was built. After a second stage with a…
