The hardware part of this system is composed of a new optical innovative probe with which two types of images can be acquired simultaneously: an anatomic image acquired under a white light and a functional one based on autofluorescence from the protoporphyrin within the cancer cells. We present an approach to integrate a preprocessing step of the region of interest ROI localization into 3-D scanners laser or ste- reoscopic. The definite objective is to make the 3-D scanner intelligent enough to localize rapidly in the scene, during the preprocessing phase, the regions with high surface curvature, so that precise scanning will be done only in these regions instead of in the whole scene. Camera-based measurement of relative image contrast in projection displays

International audience; This research investigated the measured contrast of projection displays based on pictures taken by un-calibrated digital cameras under typical viewing conditions. A high-end radiometer was employed as a reference to the physical response of projection luminance. Checkerboard, gray scale and color complex test images with a range of the projector's brightness and contrast settings were projected. Two local and two global contrast metrics were evaluated on the acquired pictures. Surfaces of minimal degree of tame representation type and mutations of Cohen–Macaulay modules

We provide two examples of smooth projective surfaces of tame CM type, by showing that any parameter space of isomorphism classes of indecomposable ACM bundles with fixed rank and determinant on a rational quartic scroll in projective 5-space is either a single point or a projective line. For surfaces of minimal degree and wild CM type, we classify rigid Ulrich bundles as Fibonacci extensions. For the rational normal scrolls S(2,3) and S(3,3), a complete classification of rigid ACM bundles is given in terms of the action of the braid group in three strands.

Ultra-short pulse propagation in birefringent fibers-the projection operator method

International audience; We examine the propagation of ultra-short optical light pulses in dispersion-managed birefringent fiber transmission systems, in which the pulse dynamics is governed by the coupled higher-order nonlinear Schrödinger equations with higher-order linear and nonlinear optical effects. We derive the equations of motion in terms of pulse parameters such as amplitude, temporal position, width, chirp, frequency and phase, using a projection operator method, and we obtain the spatial dynamical behavior of picosecond and femtosecond pulse parameters. From our detailed analysis, we show that the stimulated Raman scattering has a strong impact on the pulse dynamics.

How to Enrich Description Logics with Fuzziness

International audience; The paper describes the relation between fuzzy and non-fuzzy description logics. It gives an overview about current research in these areas and describes the difference between tasks for description logics and fuzzy logics. The paper also deals with the transformation properties of description logics to fuzzy logics and backwards. While the process of transformation from a description logic to a fuzzy logic is a trivial inclusion, the other way of reducing information from fuzzy logic to description logic is a difficult task, that will be topic of future work.
