 The aim of this study is to investigate how comprehensible L1 Finnish speakers’ L2 Swedish is considered to be and whether any listener- or speaker-specific background factors relating to the comprehensibility judgements can be found. The research material consists of Swedish read-aloud texts by 21 Finnish-speaking upper secondary school students. Judgements are given by 64 native Swedish-speakers (Finland-Swedish n = 35, Sweden-Swedish n = 29) using a verbalized scale from 1 to 7. Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek pētīta dzimumu loma valodu lietojumā lietišķajās prezentācijās, jo mūsdienu sabiedrībā cilvēkiem tagad ir jārunā publiski vairāk nekā jebkad agrāk. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā valodas lietojumu lietišķajās prezentācijās ietekmē runātāja dzimums. Autore ir pētījusi vairākus teorētiskos avotus par komunikāciju, lietišķajām prezentācijām un dzimuma atšķirībām runā. Autore ir izpētījusi piecas vīriešu un piecas sieviešu ar uzņēmējdarbību saistītas prezentācijas. Lai analizētu atšķirības starp vīriešu un sieviešu valodas lietojumu izvēlētajās lietišķajās prezentācijās, tiek izmantota kvalitatīva gadījumu izpētes pieeja. International audience; The main objective of this study is to test the perception of the vowel /y/ among the Polish learners of FLE, as it does not exist in their natural vowel system. We defend the hypothesis that optimal perception conditions can make the identification and acquisition of new sounds more intelligible.; L'objectif principal de cette étude est de tester la perception de la voyelle /y/ chez des apprenants polonais du FLE, celle-ci n'existant pas, en effet, dans leur système vocalique naturel. Nous défendons l'hypothèse selon laquelle des conditions de perception optimales peuvent rendre plus nettes, plus intelligibles, la perception et l'acquisition de sons nouveaux.
