EV-TRACK: transparent reporting and centralizing knowledge in extracellular vesicle research

We argue that the field of extracellular vesicle (EV) biology needs more transparent reporting to facilitate interpretation and replication of experiments. To achieve this, we describe EV-TRACK, a crowdsourcing knowledgebase (http://evtrack.org) that centralizes EV biology and methodology with the goal of stimulating authors, reviewers, editors and funders to put experimental guidelines into practice.

Fatty acid composition of french butters, with special emphasis on conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) isomers

Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) are fatty acids primarily found in dairy products. These fatty acids may have potential biological properties interesting for human health. Update of French food composition data banks was needed to determine CLA levels in French dairy products and to evaluate CLA intake by the French population. As part of this investigation, we analyzed 54 butters from local producers at different times of the year. The average CLA levels in butter were 0.45 g CLA/100 g butter in winter, 0.58 in spring, and 0.80 in summer. Validity and reliability of the motivation for physical activity (RM4-FM) questionnaire

There is a lack of validated instruments measuring motivation for physical activity (RM4-FM) in the Finnish language. The study examined the translated RM4-FM instrument’s psychometric properties in a sample of healthy, older Finnish adults. RM4-FM was translated and linguistically validated adhering to published guidelines. 65–75-year olds (n=102), completed the RM4-FM, the physical activity acceptance questionnaire (PAAQ) and sociodemographic characteristics questionnaires electronically. AbstractThis paper argues that the Polish noun-pronoun asymmetry in which the intensifier sam ‘self’ precedes nouns and follows pronominals is not a simple case of configuration in the DP, whereby pronouns, unlike nominals, target D0 for referential reasons (cf. Rutkowski 2002, 2012). Such viewpoints, in the case of Polish, are unfortunate because they appear to underlyingly work on and draw from the syntax of nominal projections characteristic of English or Italian i.e., languages with articles.
