Przedstawiono wyniki badań właściwości reologicznych wybranych gatunków polietylenów małej i dużej gęstości oraz otrzymanych z nich wosków. Na podstawie wyznaczonych dla nich zależności lepkości od temperatury wyznaczono energie aktywacji przepływu lepkiego tych polimerów. W celu wyjaśnienia zależności wyznaczonego parametru od właściwości tworzywa wykonano również analizy masy cząsteczkowej i dyspersyjności oraz struktury makrocząsteczek, głównie stopnia rozgałęzienia, zarówno polietylenów, jak i wosków. Uzyskane wyniki pozwoliły na ocenę właściwości przetwórczych wytypowanych tworzyw.
Underlying-event properties in pp and p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

We report about the properties of the underlying event measured with ALICE at the LHC in pp and p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV. The event activity, quantified by charged-particle number and summed-pT densities, is measured as a function of the leading-particle transverse momentum (ptrigT). These quantities are studied in three azimuthal-angle regions relative to the leading particle in the event: toward, away, and transverse. Results are presented for three different pT thresholds (0.15, 0.5 and 1 GeV/c) at mid-pseudorapidity (|η| 10 GeV/c, whereas for lower ptrigT values the event activity is slightly higher in p–Pb than in pp collisions. International audience; The response of photosynthetic activity to interannual rainfall variations in Africa South of the Sahara is examined using 20 years (1981-2000) of Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) AVHRR data. Linear correlations and regressions were computed between annual NDVI and annual rainfall at a 0.5° latitude/longitude resolution, based on two gridded precipitation datasets (Climate Prediction Center Merged Analysis of Precipitation [CMAP] and Climatic Research Unit [CRU]). Synthesis, Electrochemistry, and Photophysics of Aza-BODIPY Porphyrin Dyes

International audience; The synthesis of dyad and triad aza-BODIPY-porphyrin systems in two steps starting from an aryl-substituted aza-BODIPY chromophore is described. The properties of the resulting aza-BODIPY-porphyrin conjugates have been extensively investigated by means of electrochemistry, spectroelectrochemistry, and absorption/emission spectroscopy. Fluorescence measurements have revealed a dramatic loss of luminescence intensity, mainly due to competitive energy transfer and photoinduced electron transfer involving charge separation followed by recombination.

In this work was proposed a simple model to predict the viscosity and the power law index from the interlayer distance and, vice versa, the interlayer distance from a single flow curve for intercalated polymer nanocomposites. This model cannot be applied to exfoliated nanocomposites or when other interactions are present in the systems.
Towards a global view of dynamical systems, for the C1-topology.

This paper suggests a program for getting a global view of the dynamics of diffeomorphisms, from the point of view of the C1-topology. More precisely, given any compact manifold M, one splits Diff1(M) in disjoint C1-open regions whose union is C1-dense, and conjectures state that these open set, and their complement, are characterized by the presence of • either a robust local phenomenon • or a global structure forbiding this local phenomenon. Other conjectures states that some of these regions are empty. This set of conjectures draws a global view of the dynamics, putting in evidence the coherence of the numerous recent results on C1-generic dynamics.
The Influence of Nanoparticle Shape on Protein Corona Formation

Nanoparticles have become an important utility in many areas of medical treatment such as targeted drug and treatment delivery as well as imaging and diagnostics. These advances require a complete understanding of nanoparticles' fate once placed in the body. Upon exposure to blood, proteins adsorb onto the nanoparticles surface and form a protein corona, which determines the particles' biological fate. This study reports on the protein corona formation from blood serum and plasma on spherical and rod‐shaped nanoparticles.
