Effects of electrical stimulation pattern on quadriceps isometric force and fatigue in individuals with spinal cord injury

Introduction Variable frequency trains (VFT) or train combinations have been suggested as useful strategies to offset the rapid fatigue induced by constant frequency trains (CFT) during electrical stimulation. However, most studies have been of short duration with limited functional application in those with spinal cord injury (SCI). We therefore tested force and fatigue in response to VFT, CFT, and combined patterns in strength training-like conditions (6-s contractions). Coupled coincidence point results for (φ,ψ)-contractive mappings in partially ordered metric spaces

Abstract. In this paper, we extend the coupled coincidence point theorems for a mixed g-monotone operator F : X × X → X $F:X\times X\rightarrow X$ obtained by Alotaibi and Alsulami [Fixed Point Theory Appl. (2011), article ID 44], by weakening the involved contractive condition. Two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of our generalizations. Our result also generalizes some recent results announced in the literature. Moreover, some applications to integral equations are presented.

We establish some coupled fixed point theorems for symmetric (phi,chi)-weakly contractive mappings in ordered partial metric spaces. Some recent results of Berinde (Nonlinear Anal. 74 (2011), 7347-7355; Nonlinear Anal. 75 (2012), 3218-3228) and many others are extended and generalized to the class of ordered partial metric spaces.

The title compound, C16H24N2O2, previously obtained as a yellow oil, exhibits a rather low melting point close to room temperature 297–298 K). In the molecule, the isoindoline ring system is approximately planar and coplanar to the nitro group, forming a dihedral angle of 5.63 (15)°. In the crystal, only weak N—H...O and C—H...π interactions are observed, linking molecules into chains parallel to the [101] direction.

Abstract We introduce the notion of variational measure with respect to a derivation basis in a topological measure space and consider a Kurzweil–Henstock-type integral related to this basis. We prove a version of Hake’s theorem in terms of a variational measure.

Three zwitterionic meso-substituted A3B- and AB2C-porphyrins containing one sulfonato alkylpyridinium substituent and three or two alkoxy-substituted phenyl groups were synthesized in good yield and fully characterized as to their physicochemical properties by a variety of techniques.
