The aim of the present study was to investigate the value of the synthetic epitope analogues of the La/SSB autoantigen for the detection of antibodies to La/SSB, in comparison with recombinant La and fragments of this protein. Functional characterization of the human tRNA methyltransferases TRMT10A and TRMT10B

Abstract The TRM10 family of methyltransferases is responsible for the N1-methylation of purines at position 9 of tRNAs in Archaea and Eukarya. The human genome encodes three TRM10-type enzymes, of which only the mitochondrial TRMT10C was previously characterized in detail, whereas the functional significance of the two presumably nuclear enzymes TRMT10A and TRMT10B remained unexplained. Brazzein is a small (6.5 kDa) sweet-tasting protein originating from the fruit of Pentadiplandra brazzeana, a plant found in West Africa. Brazzein like all classes of sweet compounds is perceived through the activation of the T1R2/T1R3 heterodimeric sweet-taste receptor. T1R2 and T1R3 subunits are members of the small family of class C G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs). Class C GPCRs possess a large N-terminal domain (NTD) linked to seven transmembrane domain by a cysteine rich domain (CRD). Effect of oil lamination between plasticized starch layers on film properties

International audience; To reduce the hygroscopic character of biodegradable starch-based films, rapeseed oil was incorporated by lamination (starch-oil-starch 3-layers technique). The lipid lamination followed by starch solution casting step induced an emulsion type structure of dried films. Composite films are more opalescent and glossier than fatty free starch films. For all the films, structure is heterogeneous in the cross-section only. Adding fat induced a twice decrease of the tensile strength.
