In this thesis I study the role of culture in the context of social movements. I argue that the role of concrete cultural forms in protest movements’ action has undergone a rather small interest in the Finnish study of social movements. I examine culture in social movements by looking at the “cultural turn” in social sciences, the rise of “new social movements” and through the theorizing of Pierre Bourdieu, Sarah Thornton and Ron Eyerman and Andrew Jamison. International audience; The aim of this review is to discuss the situation of alveolar echinococcosis in France, in the light of the current knowledge on its transmission patterns in the world, especially Europe. An important risk of higher contamination of the rural environment may be suspected from newly reported cases of infected foxes or voles in several countries where the disease was not found before. Furthermore, the increase of prevalence rate in foxes in Bade-Würtemberg (Germany) and Franche-Comté (France), traditionally endemic, is also in support of this new trend. Pētījums “Baltkrievijas protestu atspoguļojums medijos “RT”, “Delfi” un “BBC”” veikts par dažādu valstu mediju publikāciju analīzi par konkrētu notikumu – protestiem Baltkrievijā, kurus izraisīja 2020. gadā notikušās prezidenta vēlēšanas. Darbā tiek analizētas izvēlēto mediju publikācijas viena mēneša laikā – kopš prezidenta vēlēšanām, kas notika 2020. gada 9. augustā, līdz tā paša gada 9. septembrim. Elektorālo protestu kontekstu un rezultātu sakarības. Salīdzinoša primārās izpētes analīze

Elektorālo protestu tēma pēdējā laikā ir aktualizējusies. Attiecīgi, rodas jautājums, kā protesta konteksts ietekmē protesta rezultātu. Teorētiskā pieeja primāri balstās uz Lipseta modernizācijas teoriju. Empīrisko bāzi veido elektorālie protesti, kas kopš 2000. gada notika 8 pēcpadomju valstīs. Situācija atlasītājas valstīs 5 gadu periodā pirms protestiem ir analizēta pēc vairākiem kritērijiem. Pētījums ir parādījis, ka modernizācijas līmenim nav būtiskas saistības ar protestu rezultātiem, kurus galvenokārt ietekmē faktoru kombinācija, un īpaši autokrātijas un režīma konsolidācijas līmenis valstī, kā arī atsevišķo aktoru lēmumi.
