L’articolo descrive i risultati di una ricerca qualitativa, finanziata dalla Comunità Europea, finalizzata a conoscere il grado di riconoscimento della violenza di prossimità di cui sono vittima i rifugiati/richiedenti asilo da parte degli operatori che lavorano nel circuito dell’accoglienza nei CAS e negli SPRAR siciliani. La ricerca ha previsto la conduzione di 78 interviste a stakeholders. Il tema della violenza di prossimità viene quindi indagato attraverso le testimonianze degli operatori intervistati e la pluralità di cause e situazioni che la rendono possibile. The standardization of the asylum system demonstrated a gap in providing specific assistance to asylum seekers with specific vulnerabilities as required in the Art. 17 of the 2013/33/EU Directive. The chapter describes an umbrella concept, proximity violence, of which violence against women is only one manifestation. Of this phenomenon , the author endeavoured to highlight the patterns that make defining its material contours and specifying the tesserae that compose it difficult. In fact cultural factors, contingent situations became entangled with concrete elements of pain and abuse of the victims.
