Trattamento laparoscopico del megacolon agangliare
2007
Recent trends in surgery for Hirschsprung's disease have been toward early repair and fewer surgical stages. Laparoscopy can be used for colon pull-through even in neonates adding the advantages of a minimally invasive approach to those of the traditional technique. the personal experience in the use of laparoscopically assisted endorectal pull-through in the treatment of Hirschsprung's disease in reported. the advantages it offers are outlined, including excellent visualization of the operative field, accurate dissection of the bowel from pelvic structures, and minimally invasive abdominal wounds. Preliminary results show that laparoscopically assisted endorectal pull-through is one of the…
ag) Push-and-pull enteroscopy in the small bowel using the double-balloon technique: results of a prospective European multicenter study.
2005
BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and clinical impact of push-and-pull enteroscopy (PPE) in patients with suspected or documented small-bowel diseases, in a prospective multicenter trial in three European medical centers. PATIENTS AND METHODS A total of 100 patients (mean age 56 +/- 16 years; range 13 - 90) were included at the three institutions between July and November 2004. The leading symptoms were: acute recurrent or chronic gastrointestinal bleeding (n = 64), polyposis syndrome (n = 8), chronic abdominal pain (n = 7), chronic diarrhea (n = 7), and others (n = 14). RESULTS No major PPE-associated complications such as perforation,…
A method for monitoring intensity during aquatic resistance exercises.
2008
The aims of this study were (i) to check whether monitoring of both the rhythm of execution and the perceived effort is a valid tool for reproducing the same intensity of effort in different sets of the same aquatic resistance exercise (ARE) and (ii) to assess whether this method allows the ARE to be put at the same intensity level as its equivalent carried out on dry land. Four healthy trained young men performed horizontal shoulder abduction and adduction (HSAb/Ad) movements in water and on dry land. Muscle activation was recorded using surface electromyography of 1 stabilizer and several agonist muscles. Before the final tests, the ARE movement cadence was established individually follow…
Chemoradioimmunotherapy with 5-fluorouracil, cisplatin and interferon-α in pancreatic and periampullary cancer: Results of a feasibility study
2008
Abstract Background Recent studies give rise to the hypothesis, that adjuvant chemoradioimmunotherapy with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), cisplatin and interferon-α (IFN-α) might be a possible new treatment of pancreatic cancer in resected patients. We report the up-to-now experience at our institution. Patients and methods Eleven patients with histological diagnosis of localized carcinoma of the pancreas ( n = 7) or periampullary ( n = 4) were prospectively analyzed. Four patients were deemed unresectable because of local invasion of adjacent organs (neoadjuvant setting) and seven patients underwent curative resection (adjuvant setting). Eight patients were classified as T3 carcinomas and three …
Isolation, structural and toxicological characterization of three new mycotoxins produced by the fungusAureobasidium pullulans.
1993
3 substances, B1, B2, and E1 were isolated from culture medium extracts ofAureobasidium pullulans by reversed phase liquid chromatography and subsequent liquid chromatographic purification steps on silica gel.The 3 compounds inhibited the metabolism ofSaccharomyces cerevisiae and showed toxic effects in the growth inhibition test toEscherichia coli andBacillus subtilis.Elementary analysis and mass spectroscopical methods revealed sum formulas of C23H22O6, C22H20O6 and C24H28O3 for B1 B2, and E1 and molecular weights of 394, 380, and 364, respectively. Mass spectroscopical, UV-, IR-,(13)C-NMR, and(1)H-NMR-spectroscopical investigations revealed polycyclic, non-aromatic compounds containing s…
Development of topography in 3-D continental-collision models
2015
Understanding the formation and evolution of high mountain belts, such as the Himalayas and the adjacent Tibetan Plateau, has been the focus of many tectonic and numerical models. Here we employ 3-D numerical simulations to investigate the role that subduction, collision, and indentation play on lithosphere dynamics at convergent margins, and to analyze the conditions under which large topographic plateaus can form in an integrated lithospheric and upper mantle-scale model. Distinct dynamics are obtained for the oceanic subduction side (trench retreat, slab rollback) and the continental-collision side (trench advance, slab detachment, topographic uplift, lateral extrusion). We show that sla…

A simple representative case of FFR in a focal stenosis which, however, does not induce an FFR blunting below 0.80. The existence of a gradient is confirmed at pullback.
Switching Behaviour in Smart Phone Messaging Services : It’s a Question of Context, Content, and Features of the Service
2021
This paper studies switching behaviour in smart phone messaging services. This study aims to add knowledge about the factors affecting switching behaviour in smart phone messaging services. The empirical study is qualitative, and the data was collected with interviews using the laddering method. This study was carried out to find out the reasons behind customer decisions when choosing between smart phone messaging services. Using the Push-Pull Mooring framework, the findings of this study indicate that the switching decision regarding smart phone messaging service is influenced by three factors: the context of the message, the content of the message, and the features of the service.
Untersuchungen zur Sterinsynthese des Ascomyceten Aureobasidium (Dematium) pullulans / Studies of the Sterolsynthesis in the Fungus Aureobasidium (De…
1985
Abstract Isolation and identification of sterols from culture extracts of the fungus Aureobasidium (Dematium) pullulans yielded metabolites with key function in sterol synthesis. By proof of squalene, lanosterol/dihydrolanosterol, desmosterol, ergosterol, cholesterol, stigmasterol and β-sitosterol it was possible to work out a general synthesis-scheme for the building-up of sundry sterols in Ascomycetes.
Frame fungi on insulated windows.
1985
Insulated windows (fixed triple glass window elements), became common in Finland during and after the energy crisis. Moisture tends to condense along the edges causing mold growth on the frames. Nine houses with insulated glass windows and eight with other types of window were studied. Fungus samples were taken from the window edges and from the inside air and cultivated on malt extract agar. In five of the houses with insulated windows there was visible mold growth on the window edges. The predominant fungus was Aureobasidium pullulans. With other types of windows there was only one case of visible mold. The concentrations of fungi were about the same in the air of houses with both types o…
