The objective of the study was to examine the effects of a group-based behavioural, cognitive and skills training intervention (Maltti) provided in schools for elementary school pupils with attention and executive function (EF) deficits. The treatment effects were identified by comparing an intervention group (n = 46) with a waitlist control group (n = 26). Specific effects of the intervention on behavioural deficits in attention and EF in a classroom setting as well as on academic skills were examined. Chequered blue butterfly, Scolitantides orion (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) has severely declined in many parts of Europe and is currently red-listed in many countries. We studied the population structure and turnover of the species in a lake-island system in a National Park in eastern Finland over a three-year period. The incidence of the chequered blue on the suitable islands (n = 41) and habitat patches (n = 123) was high: an average of 82% of the islands and patches were occupied over the three year period. Koulukiusaamisen ennaltaehkäseminen osana luokan toimintakulttuuria

Teimme tapaustutkimuksen alkuopetuksen luokkaan, jossa tutkimme paljon huomiota saanutta ilmiötä koulukiusaamista. Tutkimme mitä kiusaaminen on oppilaiden ja opettajan mielestä, esiintyykö tutkimusluokassa kiusaamista, miten siihen puututaan ja kuinka luokanopettaja ennaltaehkäisee koulukiusaamisen syntymistä. Käytimme tutkimiseen kouluetnografista lähestymistapaa, johon sisältyi havainnointia, haastatteluja sekä sosiometrisen mittauksen toteuttaminen luokassa. Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat koulukiusaamisen olevan fyysistä tai henkistä kiusaamista, se voi olla näkyvää tai ulospäin hyvin huomaamatonta.
