Abstract Purpose To compare the incidence and severity of photic phenomena after the implantation of the Array® (Allergan) refractive multifocal intraocular lens (MIOL) and a monofocal IOL. Setting Multicenter study at Kiel, Mainz, Karlsruhe, and Bremerhaven, Germany. Methods The study comprised 231 randomly selected patients from 4 study centers. Objective: This survey aimed to analyse healthy citizens (HC), cancer patients and their caregivers (CP&CG) perception about cancer care among six different Italian regions. Methods: The survey for HC was conducted by a multinational market research institute (IPSOS) through a computer-assisted web interviewing system, using a dataset of people who had consented to be interviewed for previous studies. CP&CG were interviewed by patient advocates using paper questionnaires. However, descriptions of such collaborations between the human, animal and environmental health sectors are still limited for French-speaking tropical countries. Sense of coherence (SOC) is important for maintaining health. The aim of this study was to investigate if the SOC experience among home-dwelling physically active older people differs from that of hospital patients with the same age and sex. Data were collected with questionnaires and structured interviews containing Antonovsky’s SOC scale in an age- and sex-matched study group (n=160). Non-parametric statistical analyses were performed. No differences were found in SOC between home-dwelling individuals and patients. Mothers’ knowledge about childhood asthma influences management practices and disease control, but validating knowledge/practice questionnaires is difficult due to the lack of a gold standard. We hypothesized that Latent Class Analysis (LCA) could help identify underlying mother profiles with similar knowledge/practices. A total of 438 mothers of asthmatic children answered a knowledge/practice questionnaire. Using answers to the knowledge/practice questionnaire as manifest variables, LCA identified two classes: Class 1, “poor knowledge” (33%); Class 2, “good knowledge” (67%).
