2019

The polymorphic concept of the novel and the intertextuality of the literary genres characterize the work of Georges Perec, whose writing looks into different genres, codes and models and combines them in order to preserve the singularity of each of his works. Among these W ou le souvenir d’enfance, an unclassifiable novel that alternates fiction and childhood memories, has been the result of a very difficult writing process, that genetic documents can only partly clear up. We propose to reflect on the process of re-functionalization of the adventure novel W, which appeared before as a serialized text in the journal La Quinzaine littéraire and was then integrated into the great autobiograph…

Charles Nodier, Trilogie écossaise

2013

Charles Nodier’s summer ambulations through Scotland in 1821 were to spawn a genre: the romantic travelogue. The reader is invited on a journey through age-old legends and oneiric cartography, through the fogs of ancient Caledonia and modern Scotland, and into the land of goblins and fairies.

Et vos idées ont du génie ! Rhétorique de la marque

2013

In order to appeal to us and convince us, brand names develop a complex set of rhetorical techniques. Thus, they use various stories illustrating the creation or the evolution of these brand names, along with stories regarding ways of consuming as well as consumers themselves. These brand names also rely on values and use a range of communication techniques in order to adapt to the consumers' degree of approbation. The current food brand names to be found throughout the major supermarket networks, notably Michel et Augustin, is used as a basis for case studies concerning the brand name rhetoric which, we believe, relies on a triple dimension which is simultaneously theme-oriented, axiologic…

2013

Offers of sharing services are springing up in cities: Vélib’, Autolib’, carsharing.... Using up involves sharing the service with multiple users and agreeing to separate oneself from all materialism in favor of functionality. This is also an argument towards a more responsible consumption. Hiring or buying, what does the consumer think about it? The value lies in the benefits of use rather than in its possession. It is also a new meaningful experience accepted, tinkered, refused or reinterpreted by the consumers. According to the Grounded Theory principles, a data collection based on life stories, it provides us new information on the attractiveness of this offer of service; and according …

The representation of work in the French narration since the Thirty Glorious Years

2017

There has been a resurgence of interest in the theme of work, since the end of the Thirty Glorious Years. Initially centered on a few emblematic works, there has emerged in subsequent years, multifaceted forms of expression that do not lend themselves easily to unifying categorisation. However, a specific literariness has emerged on this theme that reflects an originality that is unique within the realm of literary production. Whilst all writers hesitate about the best means to narrate human activities, those who write about work face particular difficulties in defining their position and status. The notion of fiction itself is challenged as it shifts between the domain of the real and the …
