Given that, nowadays, 40% of the US corn crop is used for biofuel production, there is a growing concern that the rise in biofuel production might lead to an increase in food prices. Chemical characterization of okra stalk (Abelmoschus esculentus) as potential raw material for biorefinery utilization

In the present work, okra stalk (Abelmoschus esculentus) was chemically characterized to evaluate its appropriate exploitation as a biorefinery feedstock. The chemical composition of this renewable lignocellulosic material yielding maximum up to 120 tons per hectare was primarily determined by methods of wood chemical analysis. In terms of its main organic constituents, its dry matter contained 65.0% carbohydrates (cellulose, hemicelluloses and other polysaccharides), 20.5% lignin and 5.0% extractives. Dependence between renewable energy related critical metal futures and producer equity markets across varying market conditions

We study the dependence of renewable energy production-related critical metal futures and producer equity returns, compared to the non-renewable energy (oil and natural gas) and some other globally relevant commodity markets. We find different asymmetric and symmetric dependencies in these commodity markets. The dependence is asymmetric in the most important critical metal markets, i.e., of silver, copper, and platinum. Tässä Pro Gradu –tutkielmassa tarkastellaan suomalaisen kotitalouden sijoitusvarallisuuden hajauttamista raaka-ainemarkkinoille. Tämä Pro Gradu -tutkielma on luonteeltaan kirjallisuuskatsaus, jonka tarkoituksena on tuoda yhteen aiempi tutkimuskirjallisuus kotitalouksien ja yksityishenkilöiden sijoituskäyttäytymisestä sekä aiemmat tutkimustulokset raaka-ainehajauttamisesta.
