1H NMR study of dynamical inequivalence of cations in [C(NH2)3]3Sb2Cl9

Abstract The proton NMR second moment and spin–lattice relaxation time have been studied for polycrystalline tris-guanidinium nonachlorodiantimonate(III) in a wide temperature range. The C 3 reorientation of two types of the cations, hindered by very different potential barriers (20.5 and 54.5 kJ/mol) has been revealed. An unusually large dynamical inequivalence of two cations evidently reflects their different crystalline environments.

Coexistence of spin-crossover and antiferromagnetic coupling phenomena in the novel dinuclear Fe(II) complex [Fe(dpa)(NCS)2]2bpym

Abstract The iron(II) spin crossover dinuclear compound [Fe(dpa)(NCS) 2 ] 2 bpym where dpa = 2,2 ′ -dipyridylamine and bpym = 2,2 ′ -bipyrimidine has been synthesized and characterized. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility and 57 Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy data provide evidence for a rather complete and continuous S=2 ( HS )↔S=0 (LS) spin-crossover behavior taking place in the temperature range 400–50 K (T 1/2 =245 K ) without the presence of a plateau at 50% of conversion. The absence of such plateau, which is characteristic of all dinuclear compounds so far studied, is interpreted in terms of synergetic effect between intramolecular and intermolecular interactions.

The monomeric compounds [Fe(abpt 2(NCX)2(X = S (1), Se (2) and abpt = 4-amino- 3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole) have been synthesized and characterized. They crystallize in the monoclinic P21/n space group with a = 11.637(2) A, b = 9.8021(14) A, c = 12.9838(12) A, β = 101.126(14)°, and Z=2 for 1, and a= 11.601(2) A, b = 9.6666(14) A, c = 12.883(2) A, β = 101.449(10)°, and Z = 2 for 2. The unit cell contains a pair mononuclear [Fe(abpt)2(NCX)21 units related by a center of symmetry. Each iron atom, located at a molecular inversion center, is in a distorted octahedral environment. Structural characterization, thermal, dielectric and vibrational properties of tris(allylammonium) hexabromoantimonate(III), (C3H5NH3)3SbBr6

Abstract The novel inorganic–organic hybrid material, allylammonium hexabromoantimonate(III), (C3H5NH3)3SbBr6, has been synthesized and its structure has been determined by means of the single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies at five temperatures (273, 248, 220, 170 and 100 K). At room temperature the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group, C2/m. Its crystal structure is composed of the discrete SbBr 6 3 - anions and three non-equivalent allylammonium, (C3H5NH3)+, cations. PHOTOINDUCED HARDENING AND REDUCTION OF DISLOCATION MOBILITY IN C60SINGLE CRYSTALS: THE WAVELENGTH DEPENDENCE

An increase of the microhardness and decrease of the dislocation mobility in C60 single crystals after light-irradiation in the wavelength range of 150–900nm in air has been observed giving evidence for photo-induced change in bonding. Efficiency of C60 phototransformation was found to increase with decreasing the wavelength.

The compounds of formula [MII(H2O)6][CuII(mal)2(H2O)2] [M = Mn (1), Co (2), Ni (3), Cu (4), Zn (5) and H2mal = malonic acid] have been prepared and structurally characterised. Each compound adopts a structure where the layers of [Cu(mal)2(H2O)2]2− anions alternate with layers of [M(H2O)6]2+ cations. The layers are linked to each other through hydrogen bonds affording a three-dimensional network. A quasi-Curie law behaviour is observed for the complexes 1–5 in the temperature range 2.0–298 K.

Crystalline gas of 1,1,1-trichloroethane

Isobaric freezing of 1,1,1-trichloroethane yields crystals where all the intermolecular contacts are much longer than the sums of the van der Waals radii and only in the structure compressed to ca. 1.2 GPa do the first Cl⋯Cl contacts become commensurate with this sum. This sheds new light on the range of intermolecular interactions that are capable of controlling molecular re-orientation and arrangement.

Abstract The design of experiments (DOE) is a good option for rationally limiting the number of experiments required to achieve the enantioresolution (Rs) of a chiral compound in capillary electrophoresis. Breeding of turf bermudagrass (Cynodon (L.) Rich.) has made available a broad range of turf varieties with unique morphological and growth traits. Rapid establishment is necessary in order to provide the performance of a mature turf cover in the shortest time possible. γδ T cells as a potential tool in colon cancer immunotherapy

γδ T cells are capable of recognizing tumor cells and exert potent cellular cytotoxicity against a large range of tumors, including colon cancer. However, tumors utilize numerous strategies to escape recognition or killing by patrolling γδ T cells, such a downregulation of NKG2D ligands, MICA/B and ULBPs. Therefore, the combined upregulation of T-cell receptorand NKG2D ligands on tumor cells and induction of NKG2D expression on γδ T cells may greatly enhance tumor killing and unlock the functions of γδ T cells.
