Using Augmented Reality (AR) could offer stimuli to rehabilitation from neuro-motor disorders, since the patient can be aided in a better known reality than Virtual Reality (VR). The main goal for an AR system is to achieve a good quality of tracking the real object to align with virtual contents. Virtual worlds have a long history, and it also includes various technologies. Yet research interest towards them has diverged over the years. It seems that nowadays they are on focus again with the evolution of socially oriented and community-supporting virtual worlds. Augmented Reality Applied in Machining Processes and Cutting Tools Management

This paper describes the benefit obtained from implementing a cutting tool management system. Also, a state of the art on tool management systems available on the market is presented. By analysing the drawbacks generated by the implementation of such a system, we are providing a cheap and practical solution: an Augmented Reality aided machining and tool management system. Using augmented reality we managed to improve the tool management systems by providing, at the scene of action, all the necessary tool information in a much more user friendly way.

Multiuser Augmented Reality System for Indoor Exhibitions

Over the last years, museums and galleries are looking for new ways to show exhibitions to visitors. For that purpose, new technologies like augmented reality are used. In this paper an augmented reality system for indoor exhibitions is presented. The system is formed by visualization screens that mix exhibition environment, visitors included, with multimedia and virtual 3D objects which visitors can manipulate naturally using a markers system. This system has been used in the exhibition "Valencia, tierra de comarcas: Dialogos con el patrimonio", which deals with a trip through the valencian cultural heritage.
