We report on a female infant with partial trisomy 9p (p13.3→pter) and monosomy 6q (q26-qter) resulting from a paternal balanced reciprocal traslocation t(6;9)(q26;p13.3). Both trisomy 9p and monosomy 6q are recognized phenotypes with characteristic patterns of anomalies. This patient is the first reported with a partial deletion 6q and a partial duplication 9p resulting in an overlapping phenotype including intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), craniofacial and skeletal abnormalities, congenital heart defect, hypotonia and developmental delay. I intend to analyze a peculiar kind of reciprocal construction, in which the natural symmetry of the complex event is split due both to the defocusing of one participant (O), coded as a comitative, and the foregrounding of the other one (A), coded as a subject controlling the agreement with the verb. This construction (“discontinuous reciprocal construction”, Dimitriadis 2004), involves a “natural reciprocity” (Kemmer 1993) or “mutual configuration” (Haspelmath 2007) of the event (kissing, marring, meeting). The Reciprocal Influences among Motivation, Personality Traits, and Game Habits for Playing Pokémon GO

This article reports a study exploring motivations of Pokémon Game use, individual differences related to personality traits, and game habits. First, it analyzed Pokémon GO motivations through exploratory factor analysis (EFA) by administering online the Pokémon GO Motivational Scale to a group of Italian gamers (N = 560). Successively, a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was conducted testing three factorial models of Pokémon Game motivations on a selected random sample (N = 310). Generalized (varphi,psi)-weak contractions involving (f,g)-reciprocally continuous maps in fuzzy metric spaces

We introduce the notion of (f,g)-reciprocal continuity in fuzzy metric spaces and prove a common fixed point theorem for a pair of sub-compatible maps by employing a generalized (varphi,psi)-weak contraction. As an application of our result, we prove a theorem for a (varphi,psi)-weak cyclic contraction in fuzzy metric spaces.

The aim of this note is to point out a fallacy in the proof of Theorem 3.1 contained in the recent paper ( Int. J. Contemp. Math. Sci. 5 (2010), 2699-2707) proved in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces employing the newly introduced notion of sub-compatible pair of mappings wherein our claim is also substantiated with the aid of an appropriate example. We also rectify the erratic theorem in two ways.

Avoiding minorities: Social invisibility

Three experiments examined how self-consciousness has an impact on the visual exploration of a social field. The main hypothesis was that merely a photograph of people can trigger a dynamic process of social visual interaction such that minority images are avoided when people are in a state of self-reflective consciousness. In all three experiments, pairs of pictures—one with characters of social minorities and one with characters of social majorities—were shown to the participants. This text deals with the question of "translating women" into the configuration of team sports. In this perspective, genders are defined as social faces - embodied and numbered in various social sites/discourses. Genders are perceived as reciprocal face-rituals; through these rituals participants claim and negotiate the social faces appropriate to each sex. The approach adds face and number as relevant dimensions to the sociological analyses of gendered sport.
